Lynx, wolf and brown bear are only license hunt and they are endangered in Norway, both mouflon and fallow deer are not hunted in Norway, and most mouflon and fallow deer in Norway are not wild

#

And wild boar and raccon dog are really rare in Norway

keen plover
#

This is the page I used to get my information a species being rare doesn't necessarily mean they can't be on a map I had also found information on hunting wolfs and brown bears as being legal

#

@sterile plinth I'd like to see what sources or information you have on this so I know for future references I'm sorry if I got the info wrong

#

The Norwegian Parliament has decided upon a «wolf zone» that accounts for less than five percent of Norway's total land area. If a wolf wanders outside this zone, permission to shoot it is usually granted quickly.

In addition to this, Norwegian authorities commissions license hunting of a large number of the wolf population each year.

#

Bears are protected in Norway but can be hunted when they present a danger to the public or when they attack livestock in areas designated for open grazing

If its incorrect or outdated I'd appreciate info so I can make it on the more " legal " side of things

sterile plinth
keen plover

Hmm that might not work I wanted it to be somewhat more north if you look at Revontuli coast its basically the whole country in one small map maybe something like that could work what do you think?

keen plover
#

I feel bad if I didn't give a good representation of the country I really like your country I've never been able to visit it but I think your country deserves a map in cotw so I chose to make a map Idea but I can edit it so its more correct

There is 12 small game species compared to the links 8 small game species plus I tried to make a species list that works for everyone the small game and big game and the mid game essentially so everyone wins
Also I was told that 20 species is the max number for species this is 23 so adding more might not be good

#

But I'm glad you like it though
Also the list below the official species list is just potential species that you could add but chose to exclude for some reasons

sterile plinth

#

I can change the Lynx for something like Red Fox or Muskrat or Coypu if you wanted to

sterile plinth
#

I do not know much about muskrat or coypu hunting in Norway but red fox are hunted all over Norway

keen plover
#

Or also European Pine Marten but I'm not sure if that's trapping or hunting or both

#

I think my info was abit out dated its from like 2013 or 2014 I think

sterile plinth
#

European pine marten are hunted in Norway and a fun bird to add should be cormorant i think its called in english

keen plover
#

Hmm let me look at them oh ok I must've not seen them before I sometimes miss stuff

sterile plinth
#

There are two different types of Cormorant but i don’t know the name of them in english

# candid gust Racoon dog and wild boar are invasive in Norway and commonly shot on sight, I wo...

OK so it's not bad I didn't add the Raccoon dogs and wild boar then as for the Waterfowl I can 2 new Waterfowl but I chose those returning species because I kinda like them more than the common scoter basically my reason for excluding species and I'm not going to lie is I like the look of them I know I know it's stupid but that's my only reason for excluding cormorants puffins etc not that I don't like them per se but I don't want to hunt them

This is the only piece of info I found but it's not official so I may be wrong
Hunting traditions are strong and have been for many generations. Today we hunt Moose & Reindeer here, but it is also possible to hunt Capercaillie, Red & Roe Deer, Bear, Wolf, Wolverine and Lynx during some parts of the season

@keen plover agreed we should have a Norway Reserve but there are heavy regulations on most animals

keen plover
#

If they are huntable doesn't that technically mean it can be on a map you know if they are legally huntable then couldn't species be on a map

I didn't add polar bears to the list plus I know they're illegal to hunt in Norway= Svalbard also its a game if you look at Revontuli coast the map is basically the whole country the northern area of the map is based on the north and then the center is based off of central Finland and then the south is based off of southern Finland if they can do that then I don't see why I can't

Actually I didn't forget to add Reindeer look at class 6 species
