I'm a big fan of cotw and Layton Lakes but it's not the best map located in the Pacific Northwest so I'm making a map Idea that's somewhat similar in terms of species and location but there will be differences. this is an idea for what Layton Lakes could've been like or another map in the same area. If you have feedback or ideas let me know if you're going to be negative keep it to yourself.

Also this is a list of species that are hunted in the US state of Washington this isn't the official list it may be later on but the list may be too large so it'll need down sizing to fit. It could also Possibly be a BC map Idea excluding some Species that can be found in British Columbia.

Another american map, the species list do's not really offer anything new. Suggestion is comparable to New England.

A lot of players have voiced their dissatisfaction with New England's lack of new species, I think this meet the same type of reception.

rancid oracle

It's a idea big deal if you don't like it don't read it what do you mean by no new species there's literally 26 new species

rancid matrix
rancid oracle
#

I wasn't getting defensive I just said if you don't like it then don't read it plus there is also 26 new species

#

If you think I was being defensive you are incorrect I agree that I want a break from North America but this was simply an idea for a Layton Lakes 2.0 if you don't like it that's fine

Just stating my opinion and idea that's all

There's not really any new species that I could add cause I mean Layton Lakes covered big game but this is just a idea of what Layton could be like in the future or if cotw decided to I don't know how to explain it but to replace Layton Lakes in a way this is a proposal

rancid oracle
#

I only wanted to make ideas I've been feeling pretty down lately and I just wanted to make something for the community something people could talk or chat about this is really the only thing that makes me feel better

Was that sarcasm it's difficult to tell on the Internet

#

I don't even know why I bothered rejoining the server I've only ever gotten hate this was a waste of 3hrs

rancid matrix
#

It’s not a waste of effort at all bud, it’s just not something that the community want at the moment. Keep making suggestions though, have a look through what’s already been suggested and find some gaps!

rancid oracle
#

Are you brothers or something

Better Idea: Backfill Some Of These Species To Layton Lakes Instead Of Creating A Whole New Map For Them.

There’s So Many Animals In Game That Could Simply Be Added To The Current Maps Instead Of Taking Tons Of Time And Resources To Make An Entirely New Map (For Example: Badgers, Sage Grouse, Beavers, And Tons Of Waterfowl To SRP Instead Of A Boring Midwest/Northern Plains Map).

rancid oracle

@calm panther hey so I have a question is it that you don't like this idea and would never want to see it or is it that you do like it but not something that you would want to see right now since the last NA map was just 1 map before it

# rancid oracle <@280148300051775490> hey so I have a question is it that you don't like this id...

Mixed bag really,

I’m sure the scenery would be great, but that’s true of all expansive world maps.

I think America has been done to death, and to a lesser degree Europe.

There’s the rest of the world to dive into, Africa (which yes I know, I always bang on about it) only having one reserve from 2018 on it is criminal. And Asia also not yet being featured.

New species and by that I mean completely different to the one’s we already have (not just endless deer/moose) appeal to me.

In a nutshell, it’s in the games interest that it diversifies the location of it’s future reserves

rancid oracle
#

Hmm OK I only made this idea really cause Layton Lakes doesn't exactly appeal to me as a true Northwest Pacific map I do think they missed out but also I haven't seen that type of terrain in Washington I may be wrong but I don't know I was expecting something of Boreal forests and Temperate rainforests and so and so forth

Not saying Layton Lakes isn't bad it's good but it could or could've been much better having only 8 species

Part of it looks almost like SRP,Yukon, NEM, and it's own thing

rancid oracle
#

I know alot of people aren't a big fan but I'm still going to add more stuff to it to maybe make it abit more appealing

rancid oracle

Northern Pintail

Fur types:

Common: ( Dark Brown, brown, males only ) ,( light brown grey females only )
Very Rare: ( Albino male and female ), ( leucistic male and female )

#

I don't really know how to make rares for new species not really my strong suit plus I don't have any ai or tech that could make an animal rare

calm panther
rancid oracle
#

Oh ok thanks isn't that difficult though

rancid oracle
#

@calm panther hey it got 2 thumbs up!

calm panther
rancid oracle
#

What fr you didn't need to do that, but it warms my heart thanks ❤️

#

Have you posted any ideas I'd definitely like to see them

rancid oracle
#

Holy that got alot of attention and I had to scroll for 5min literally to get to the top there's well of a thousand messages I like it I've been meaning to make an Africa map Idea but I just don't know what I have been thinking about Ethiopia as its never been covered or seen in likely any video game ever made especially a hunting game

calm panther
rancid oracle
#

Thanks it will help with basic info on legality and species then work on from there man you are wealth of information once again I cannot thank you enough I gave your idea a thumbs up👍

#

Oh no way no one has ever done a Ethiopia map I absolutely have to jump on this

calm panther
rancid oracle
#

OK thanks

Whitetail aren’t very common in Washington(from what I hear) so making Blacktail the number #1 deer species of the map would change it up a bit.

rancid oracle
#

Yeah I think the whitetail deer should be rarer and on the right side of the map and the columbian Blacktail deer being on the left side of the map being the opposite if Layton Lakes and adding a more realistic location for them

naive bolt
rancid oracle
#

Hmm but then there would be less big game species and that is definitely something people wouldn't like

You put that thumbs down just now didn't you
