We need to talk about shooting sticks for the game.

So what are shooting sticks and bipods?
Shooting sticks allows the shooter to have a more steady rifle when aiming. They are primarily for standing shots but on occasion you can find shooting sticks for the kneeling position and bipods are primarily used for the prone position. Shooting sticks are popular amongst African and European hunters and bipods are popular amongst American hunters.
There are several types of shooting sticks, to tell the difference between all of them you count the number of legs.
.You have the one legged shooting stick, good for long hikes seeing as you can use it as a walking stick
. The 2 legged shooting sticks, which are good for the kneeling position.
. The 3 legged shooting sticks, which are perfect for standing shots.
. The 4 legged shooting sticks(my personal favorite) witch a very similar to the 3 legged but instead of moving side to side it moves up and down.
. And there’s the bipod, good for the prone position and is often used for sheep hunting.

The function for in game would be to minimize movement in the scope/sights. It doesn’t completely negate movement but it certainly helps. The downside to this tool would be movement wile your aiming, you can’t walk around with your sticks folded outwards. So once you place them down if you want to move you have to pick them up.

All in all, I love using them in real life when I’m hunting, and there a great tool when shooting. I hope you can add them in

I don’t want to incur penalty for visibility from adding a pack.

I try to include a hunting stand in my loadout for Maps that are more amiable with topography and class diversity, but this would be a really nice option for stability, especially when I have less weight to play with on the majority of my loadouts.

I would just be happy if devs would fix the issues with shooting from the prone position. Then maybe wouldn't need bipods or sticks

Also shooting from a stand (tripod, blind, or Map Structure ) should significantly reduce weapon wobble and increase accuracy... The hunting stand itself implies that you would have some means of supporting your weapon as part of the stand ....

Bro the render distance isn't even 500m. Is this really necessary? I mean its a cool idea and I could see it needed for some real long range stuff but I just don't see the need here. The render distance isn't that substantial and the perks already help a ton with sway and recoil. I just don't see this happening.

I think we should also be able to use rocks, trees and branches to rest our guns, reducing the sway.

And maybe in combination with a tripod the sway could be completely removed if rested on it.

I think for being a pro hunter, our player character just didn't figure out how to get his gun really stable yet 🫠

it would be great if all the stands didn't have the rails at the exact height your crouched aim sightline is at.

I avoid half the stands because when I crouch there's a crossbar or railing right where my sight picture is and I get awful target acquisition.

I'm here to bump this idea. Here are the shooting stick I use irl, just 2 imperfect sticks, hose pipe, bicycle tire rubber and gemsbok horns and suddenly your a whole lot more stable in the veld
