Save future tears..

because many so tears have been shed in the past. Please consider changing the optimistic-sounding "New game" to something more like what it actually is, resetting your hunter character back to zero progress. It's so easy for a tourist to do serious damage..

I propose "Restart hunter" or something like that which more accurately indicates the gravity of the choice.

Or move it off the main menu, at least. I've almost clicked that so many times because of lag.

or just have characters saved. so if you want you can revert back to an older character

That would be a dream, to be able to have multiple character saves, but over the years this must have been requested so much, there must be a good technical reason this hasn't happened, surely..?

That's another good solution. But what happens when you press the button? Surely you must get a "Are you sure, this is irreversible Y/N" safety button?

I'm obviously asking because I've never dared to press the button.

Unfortunately, when I get a very rare lag, I have this terrible habit of instinctively smashing the select button multiple times and that's when the pop up occurs causing me to almost accidentally hit it. It is the same reason why I have so many accidental purchases of tripods when the Missing Items pop up appears.

Restart game/Restart hunter is definitely a good idea but I would like to see it dropped from the main choices. The entire UI system needs an overhaul. Hopefully we'll see some big changes with the next map release.

That's something. Still, someone who doesn't own the game and is just pressing buttons while the owner is out of the room doesn't necessarily assume it's an irreversible reset. Other games keep different save points that are easily retrieved.
