Posts do not need to be bumped every hour, some individuals are excessively bumping ancient posts from around a year ago. Sending new posts with life right far down in the list.
It’s a bit selfish, many of these old posts being over bumped have not had any actual conversation on them since last year.
Or even instead of just saying “bump” / putting some random emoji in like 
actually write something that will encourage conversation.
If a post is that dead just let it rest.

Bumping a thread that hasn't had activity for many months I'm good with. It brings the discussion to people who likely haven't seen it before and is better than splitting the conversation up between duplicate threads.
The issue I have is people bumping a thread multiple times in a week even when the normal conversation has been fairly active. That's not a thread that needs to be bumped and doing so clogs it up with spam.
