I believe that the 30-06 in game is completely terrible compared to its real life counterpart. The M1 garand was perfect but I am talking about the bolt action. It can hardly kill a elk! I believe it should be able to take class 8 better and possibly class 9. If you agree hit that 👍🏻 button !

#Make the 30-06 Better

I don’t see how the gun makes a difference since the ammunition determines how effective it is
I think just buff it but it feels like it should be stronger on both weapons. All I was saying is the M1 feels better because of the semi auto.
yea
I haven’t used the bolt so I won’t argue down that trail but I feel as if it’s just fine when it is at
I have hunted with a 30-06 IRL and drops whitetail every time. But in COTW they Still run 150 yards
That’s not been my experience in the game and actually the gun irl in my opinion is weaker than in the game
We all have different opinions. IRL I drop whitetail with a 30-06 and have had friends drop elk with them. You can’t do that in game
Maybe not elk I’ll agree to that but a good shot on whitetail will put them down with no track job needed
You actually have to hit vitals for it to drop whitetail
Double, sometimes just single, lung shots drop whitetail instantly
Not in my experiences they run for me and I hit lungs and they still run
I use the 30-06 every day and they never run with lung shots
Not in my experiences. And I am not just getting at whitetail I feel like it should take out bigger game faster
I mean,you could probably down a bison with a .30-06.
Yes! that’s what I am getting at it should be able to take them out
And all the more reason to separate Cape Buffalo from plains bison too!
Yes! In my opinion the plains bison are just paper mache
Be helpfull with more options on bullet weight.
I've dropped elk and bear with smaller calibers
I feel it should be able to take down plains bison and lions. Which I think they should be moved to class 8
Just did more research and found out the 30-06 is more powerful than the 7mm in game yet still rated to take 8 and not class 9 animals
Just based on how the 30.06 stacks up in the game to the 308 and 7mm. I'm guessing that it is losely based on a 150 grain whitetail bullet and so is the 7mm. Typical elk loads would be 180 grains for a 30.06 and 200-220 for 7mm. Not saying that there are not other bullets at other weights that wont work. Heavier bullets will drop quicker. A 220 grain 7mm bullet, made for elk ìs not a good choice for whitetail at close ranges. They can fail to expand and leave a pin hole. I think it wpuld be great if we had more bullet choices. One of the great things about a 30.06 is it is capable irl of taking any big game in North America with the correct bullet. It would not be my first choice on Grizzlys or Moose but are capable at closer ranges.
Yes! We need more options in grains and not polymer tip and hollow points. They have the models of ammo boxes and could possibly try to get licensed for different brands and types of ammunition.

The .30-06 Springfield cartridge is ridiculously versatile and widely used. Hell the cartridge was designed when shots of 1,000 yards (914.4 m) were expected.
Technology has only strengthened its performance since introduction, whether a particular load is 150 gr FEDERAL power+shock or a 180 gr NOSLER, a properly selected cartridge should handle any mid-large game in North America, including our lovely bison. 🦬
I think what we’re running into is that this game is focused on a overall experience - a collective of physical interactions conducive to introducing a new person to hunting, which is understandably paramount, rather than specifics of ballistic performance.. As a result, players that are irl hunters and marksmen are experiencing occasional ballistic underperformance of multiple calibers in correlation with select species and classes.
I wish I knew a way to balance that more effectively without making things unnecessarily difficult for our hardworking development community. 🫤
The best idea I can think of, is a wider array of cartridges for our calibers which may likely result in wider ballistic integrities.. Some wiggle room. 🤷♂️
Yes. And model them with the box of ammunition like you see with the ballistics in way of the hunter. They have the model for the box and just need to change the names.
