Me and my friend can’t connect to each other other it doesn’t matter. The host but if I start a public multiplayer game people start flooding in but he can’t join us this the game or internet. And how do I fix it

Are you both on the same type of gaming system
Thcotw is not cross play compatible. If you both are on same type system then go to create game and set it to friends only once loaded in go to map multi player and send friend an invite to your game if it fails the have them go to there friends list find your name and try to join you that way

Yes we are on the same system and I have set it to friends and public but the screen goes black then it says session timed out
