#Realistic HUD Settings

CotW has done a good job of allowing players to turn on/off a lot of settings for the game, but one of the biggest issues still lies with the spotting animals and identifying tracks. These options don't have the same choices.

It's an issue when I try to set up my game to play as realistically as possible and I'm glassing the horizon and see a Spot Animal notification pop up on my screen when I personally didn't see the animal. This clues me into a target I shouldn't technically know about and changes my hunt. If I didn't see it, then I should miss out on it.

Same to be said for animal tracks and the notification that pops up to identify the track. If I don't want to see it, then don't point it out to me.

Adding a setting for these last two clues would allow a player to make their game as completely realistic as possible with the other settings like turning off animal outlines, audio cues, or particle and glow on tracks, and enabling manual chambering/reloads.

Ideally once these two options are added, including even one more toggle option for Realistic (which would turn off all the visual/audio/HUD clues while enabling weapon reload/chambering and any other setting I'm missing) with one click would be great. This would be so you don't have to go through and click the option for each item and make the process quicker/easier. And turning it off when you want to return to normal could be just as quick.

Tangential Side note in relation to this: when the HUD is turned off, there's no way to know where your weapon is currently zeroed to. You can still use the skill but it's guesswork if you're not really paying attention to it. IRL you can always glance at your weapon to know what you are zeroed for, so there needs to be a way to still know what this is when the HUD is disabled. Preferably on the weapon and not some other on screen indicator like the HUD, that's the point of turning it off in the first place.

So just because it's a game does that mean it can't be improved and made better?

I just thought of something else that may be very controversial but could also have a setting option to turn off/on to add to the challenge of making a realistic hunt. Have a way to turn off the hunting pressure as seen on the map/huntermate so the purple circle isn't visible. This would align with Classic that doesn't have a visible indicator and forces you to find the track. It also means you need to track an animal to see if you dropped it or not instead of being instantly told just by glancing at the map.

I know a lot of people probably won't like this particular idea, but there are some I'm sure that would appreciate this added challenge.

It's something I clued in on while recently hunting in Classic with my dad and realizing we were forced to track an animal we didn't drop instantly because there wasn't the immediate notification with hunting pressure like in CotW. It actually adds an interesting mechanic to the hunt that I think makes it more fun (at least when you're not tracking for 30 minutes on a badly wounded animal). But it does help the immersion of the gameplay.

Anyway, something else to consider.

Did you not read my last post? I do. But I don't limit myself to playing just those games and think features can be implemented here as well. It seems like you just want to be antagonistic.

That would make the game not fun for everyone.

Imagine blocking someone because you lost a debate about virtual weapon classes🫤🫵

You keep saying “that’s enough” yet here you are

It was an opinion. I called you a kid because you’re acting like one stop. But you are still debating over it stop.

He’s made a fair point, you did start calling him a kid over nothing. Plus you do keep saying stop but keeping talking and prodding. I’m inclined to think you are being a problem here. Especially now I have seen what you have written on other people’s posts.

# mellow mural Can't you press C and it disables clues

Yes I can press C and it disables seeing the animal tracks particle and glow and stuff, but they're still there for the Enter (or whatever your key binding is) acknowledgment to pop up when you get close and face them. Same for glassing the horizon and getting the Spot animal notification. It doesn't get rid of those which is what I'm asking to create settings for to disable also.
