I think this was the most controversial CotW map to date, they have called it the "Repeated Map", the "Copy-Paste", the "Recycled Map"...
As I always say, the basis of CotW is to recreate real hunting scenarios where every plant and tree within the reserve is a Recreation of an existing species, and New England Mouintain is NOT the exception to this Rule, i think there is only 1 species of repeated tree on the map, the Jack Pine (Banks Pine/Labrador/North American) the most common in the north of the US and Canada that we already see throughout Layton Lakes...
Here are the comparisons with the species and landscapes of Maine and New Hampshire US..

Correct me if I'm wrong about any xD

Just as we have a list of the animals on each map, it would be great to also have a list of the plant species.
It would help a lot to see the great work that the EW scenario development team does

Nice to see appreciation for NEM. It deserves more love. It's a challenging map with all the red colours and the thick brush in lots of places, compared to others, but the rivers make great hunting grounds and it is truly one of the most stunning maps in the COTW universe. I'd never do a grind on this map but I do like going up and down the rivers and indiscriminately shooting whatever is drinking at the time. I use it a lot to complete Hunt Club missions.

Perfect pictures but they are selective . It would need to make more believable trees distribution and size . If its perfect in Layton it could be perfect in New England as well

Layton is a different region, the trees there are also different species, in NEW they used Red Maple, American Beech, Yellow Birch, Balsam Fir, only the pine from the high regions is the same..
Trees in rocky regions like appalachian do not reach great heights or have wide trunks; the rocky subsoil makes their growth difficult and slows down.

I still think NEM is the best looking map

I love NEM and I have often said it is my Zen map .... Hunting there just calms my spirit ... And for that reason alone it is my favorite map ....

I have almost abandoned this map. 🙁

If the developers add American woodcock, ruffed grouse, and more game birds and local animals, I will play on this map.

I like how you analyze the vegetation of the map. I like the map a lot, but I miss the American Woodcock and Ruffed Grouse.
