In the Medved taiga mission “the wounded one” if you spook the reindeer you literally can’t find it anymore and there for you can continue with the story line.

It's not broken. Log out and back in. The mission will reset. Crouch walk into the area from the South. You may have to crawl (if I remember correctly). I messed it up a few times before getting it right. Having a tent placed just outside the zone helps.
