#Please help me to understand why I've completely missed this shot

Please see the attached video for reference. The boar is in clear view except for its feet. It is 100 metres away. I'm using the 303 which is good for 150 metre distance. I have all zeroing perks etc. I was crouched and my aim seemed steady enough when I pulled the trigger. But I missed the pig completely. Not even a flesh wound or 'non-vital' splatter. Nothing.

I really can't see how this could have been a missed shot. What am I doing wrong?

Looks like you may have hit the ground directly in front of you. It can happen if you are scoped but close to the ground level. I've had that happen in ground blinds (the fixed ones) when I have hit the edge of the blind but the scope didn't show that.

That's what I was thinking. That I hit the slight rise in front of me. Which is why I hardly ever shoot prone on Medved. But, in my opinion, I am in crouch mode and the animal is in clear enough view so there is no good reason that I should have missed that shot. I find this to be a common problem on Medved and I'm wondering if it is either the scope settings are off or if the object boundaries (the ground in this case) are not right on this map.

Medved has always had a fair about of terrain weirdness since it was released, with the floating bushes and rocks and all. If you were crouched, I agree you probably should have hit, but like I said, if you are fairly close to the rise, sometimes the scope can make it look like you have clear shot, when in fact you don't (which iron sights would show), even when crouched but not prone. Try some archery with the rangefinder sight in a ground blind on Vurhonga to discover some real messed up shots.

It depends on how close you are standing to the window, but yeah, I've messed up a few shots that way

I know that is the case with the rifle and maybe also the hand gun. Focus too close to the edge and you'll shoot the edge.
With regards to the above shot though, I feel like that slight rise was 50 metres between me and the animal and my scope should have been able to 'cope' with that.
Anyway, thanks for helping me to clear this up. I really appreciate it and I hope the devs will regard this convo as constructive feedback.
