Well .577 actually has a hunting background, it has for a hundred years, .50 BMG doesn’t (except for a few reasons, like really big game that’s already about to die like giraffes, but even then it’s not recommended) because .50 BMG was designed to put a massive hole in the side of things, not transfer and drop a animal.
