#Dear devs, another wishlist

Sitka Deer only live in Southeastern Alaska, Arctic Fox only live up in the Arctic coast of Russia, not the interior and Caiman don’t live in the Sonoran Desert
It is not allowed to hunt Caimans in Sonora Mexico where Rancho del Arroyo is located
I can get behind the skeet shooting
I don’t think a single species of Caiman lives in Sonora.
True, not a single caiman species lives in the Sonoran Desert (historically speaking though, American Crocodiles used to live pretty close by in the Gulf of California but that was mainly in the mangroves and they no longer live there)
Really??? I’ve never heard of that, very interesting!
I only learned about it this month, apparently they made it as far north as the Colorado River Delta, and crocodiles do rather well in saltwater ecosystems, unlike Caiman
That would make for a very interesting Hunter primal/Cenozoic map.
-Well, as a highly adaptable, non-threatened species that pops up a lot of places quite nearby, my respect for the game would wane not one little bit if it got snuck into a Mexican private hunting reserve. That southwestern river zone is so lonely and looks like a perfect caiman habitat to my eyes..
That’s….nearly the opposite of perfect caiman habitat….
Are you standing in the Rancho southwest, looking around and saying this now? Please elaborate.
arid-sub arid environments are certainly not their preferred environments.Think Tropical rivers and mangroves.
The Spectacled Caiman, the species that does live in Mexico are not known to live in more arid areas and are more associated with swamps and rainforest, and even the American crocodiles that use to live in the state of Sonora only ever lived in the coastal mangroves and river deltas. The only crocodile species that lived in arid regions are the West African Crocodiles and they had to adapt by by staying in caves or burrows in a state of aestivation (sort of like hibernation) during the driest periods, leading to the alternative common name desert crocodile but that is in western Africa
I hear you lads, but if I had a reserve and I released caiman into a biome like this, are you saying they would suffer and demand to leave?
Your really trying hard to justify this. If you want Caiman in the game that badly here are several threads for South American reserve ideas that include caiman as a huntable species #1070132029905178645 (A thread I put together some time ago) set in Northern Argentina, #1133894406550868090 & #1087127532236722196 are both set in Peru. Even a reserve set in Florida would be a more realistic setting to hunt caiman on (alongside iguana and Burmese python on account of all 3 being invasive to Florida)
No, I just think my threshold of justification is calibrated very differently than yours.
These reserves you cite are concept ideas, not existing reserves -and I would hope caiman could be part of them-, but some quite thinly justified cases have already snuck their way into the game. In my mind the game is better for it.
agree to disagree (And I am painfully aware of some examples to what you mean by thinly justified cases sneaking their way in), and to be fair your also suggesting a good idea that is long overdue: Skeet Shooting. The Hunter Classic has something similar to what your proposing, only your idea is a portable skeet launcher which would be easier to implement (Could be it's own weapon pack alongside the crossbow you are suggesting and a new shotgun). Your also suggesting fixes to the Rocky Mountain Elk model (An idea that also gained it's own thread a while ago) which while are not the worse could use a few changes (The Roosevelt's Elk could use a remodel though)
Thanks, yes skeet shooting practice would be really useful. That would be really cool if it could just arrive in a little hunter pack.
They're just lobbying ideas that the devs probably have already heard or thought of themselves, but it's nice to keep the discussions going and with passion.
Also speaking of the Crossbow your suggesting, if it anything like the one in Classic, then it would be an interesting small game weapon due to its limited range
I've never played Classic but it seems there are many great ideas waiting to transcend the games.
Yes, my wish comes from too often sitting in a stand and wanting to deal with a tempting prey walking by without disturbing my main objective, while the loadout is of course too full for even a basic bow..
Outside of the yearly Halloween event that Classic has, it is a handy turkey hunting tool and is also good for rabbits and can also take waterfowl and foxes (at least if they are close enough)
Yes, a 50m range for classes 1-3 would be ideal for me..
Cool that the precedent exists.
So crocodiles used to live west also I never heard of that i thought they only lived in places like Georgia Florida and Alabama
Those are Alligators in Georgia and Alabama though American Crocodiles exist in South Florida currently. But yeah the Sonoran Crocodiles was a new one for me. The Yaqui River in Mexico was one of the rivers that had them and was also the furthest south Mexican Grizzlies ever got
Sometimes ap algebra 2 makes me feel stupid so I sometimes get my animals mixed up
there are many game species in Sonora, just forget caimans xD

Just curious, how do you reckon pheasant in the Sonora desert? Javelina and Puma in Patagonia?
I could make a long list.
Well Puma are native to Patagonia
Pheasant were introduced worldwide to a variety of habitats
Oh, I was under the impression puma didn't venture that far south by own accord.
Key word here is introduction. As the stories go with these private reserves that they artificially inhabit ecosystems with species that adapt.
Unlike Caiman in Sonora or Lesser Kudu in South Africa there is history behind Pheasant behind on almost every continent because of human introduction
Introduction of caiman is certainly not without precedent.
The initial gist was "caiman in the desert!?", which I agree does sound very illogical, but caiman by moist river banks in tropical climate isn't far fetched as opposed to actual pheasants in the desert.
If your still bent on having a species more typically associated with tropical forest, I can suggest the the Coatimundi (Nasua narica), a species found across Central America and into the United States (Can legally be hunted across many parts of Mexico and the state of Arizona). Sure it would be another Class 2 species but it's not like the Spectacled Caiman is really that big either
I don’t think the owner of Rancho would be careless enough to release a breeding population of Caiman into his, unfenced, unprotected land to wreak havoc in his land and eventually elsewhere,Just doesn’t strike me as the type of guy.
with the removal of cattle from the land that is mentioned in the story if I recall correctly, I would agree with that sentiment.
Yeah,I kinda wish there was feral cattle on Rancho, but I don’t think you can hunt ferals in Mexico.
There was an outfitter offering hunts for Spanish fighting bulls (and apparently another guy offers hunts for the same animal in Texas) and from what I understood those bulls can be even more savage when they turn feral
But a one off situation does not really represent the hunting in Mexico (as cool as hunting feral cattle would be)
Which is why I’d love to see a New Mexico map, because Feral Cattle Culling/Hunting is pretty popular!
#1083099123743465492 also comes with it's own ferals in the Vancouver Bulls and Peru also has Andean Wild Bulls
Yup,love that concept!
Unfortunately, the Reintroduction of Native species does not work like that. Once an animal is reintroduced to its former habitat, it is categorized as protected until it recovers at least a high percentage of the population of animals that existed before it disappeared.
I think we mentioned this same thing once with the Euroasiatic Aurochs..
With exotic species this problem does not exist and they can be hunted without restrictions..
I’m confused, who are you replying to???
about the release of caimans within the reserve xD
Ahhh,that makes sense hahaha!
I just re-read this,Pheasant in the desert makes tons of sense. They are EXTREMELYadaptable birds,I’m not sure what makes you think they wouldn’t like cool, shaded, brushy areas,Rancho is nearly the opposite of tropical (other than freezing cold).
I’ve Always Wanted White-Nosed Coatimundis In Game. They’re A Pest Down In Arizona And Each Person Can Kill 1 Per Year. They’re An Interesting Animal And I Think They’d Make A Great Addition To The Pine Forests On Rancho Del Arroyo.
What Did You Use To Make This Picture? I’d Love To Use It For Some Of My Ideas!
I agree on Hyenas adding to Vurhonga, Sitka blacktail to Yukon (ONLY if we're not getting another Alaskan map) save Arctic fox for the Arctic map and Caimans should be added to Parque, the homerage being only the northern swamps to make sense
Caiman in Parque would be more realistic then caiman on Rancho, not by much but enough for me to agree, though Dall's Sheep would be better to fill in the class 4 slot on Yukon
Oh yea, Dall sheep is my first choice for Yukon too
Plus Rancho was once a cattle ranch, no way any rancher I know would let a predator in their land
Having Broad-Snouted Caiman Or Jacare Caiman Would Work On Parque, Especially Considering That Collared Peccaries Were Added There (They’re Only Known From Northern Argentina, Same Thing With Both Caimans)
The habitat area of caimans in Argentina is very small, it does not even reach the center of the country since there are no connecting rivers.
It would be really bad and inaccurate to place a cold-blooded reptile in a region with average temperatures of 9° Celsius, where snow falls in winter and temperatures drop to -10°.
There are many other species that live in Patagonia and can be added without problem.
Alpine Ibex
Fallow Deer
Himalayan Thar
European Muflon
Multihorn Ram
Pere David's Deer
Scottish Blackface Ram
Patagonic Wild Ram
Texas Dall Ram
Wild Boar
New map suggestion in the feedback chat? 👀
Really could be make a complete reserve with all those species xD
I think greater kudu on vurhunga would be better
I mean, both could easily fit. There’s plenty of room.
I just mean if we could have 1 I would much rather have an animal with a sick rack in way of the hunter they are amazing
Both would be fairly simple to develop.
That’s not my point lol it would be hard on one map because they can’t keep jamming animals on to one map they need multiple because of zones and map size and I guess performance
Tell me,how many animals are on Vurhonga compared to oh,I don’t know….Rev,EC,Cuatro.
There’s so many empty bodies of water, empty areas plenty of room, hours with no drink times (not that they couldn’t overlap).
and this is the moment when we return to the request "Expansion of Reserves" XD
Well that argument is shit because revontuli has mostly birds.
That means absolutely nothing to my argument. My point still stands.
No it doesn’t that’s not comparable saying that this map has a ton of animals but they are all birds it only has 5 actual “big game animals including the lynx and the raccoon dog that is a shit argument where vurhunga 8 big game wild animals- not including class 1. It is completely different. They can’t jam a bunch of big game animals on 1 map unless you have small sections of the map with that species like in cuatro they have the lakes with the goats. It’s a bad argument and they should just make another Africa map with all new species besides the lion
Birds take up the same amount of space as big game. Not sure what you are talking about bud.
Those “small sections of the map” are already made on vurhonga .
But they don’t😂 they take up the water and sky they take less time to develop.
Every reserve has a set number of species that must be the same almost all the time,Birds, small mammals and Big Game are the same size in the code. How you don’t know that is hilarious.🤣🤣🤣☝️☝️☝️
Rev for example is far more full than vurhonga, where you can go across the map and not see a single animal.
What the argument abt?
And you can do it in multiplayer with a few friends and see who is the best at shooting skeet
That you can’t add two more species to vurhonga .
True, But Collared Peccary Are Inly Found In The Extreme North Of Argentina, Yet They’re On The Map.
Yes, there were several complaints about that.
One inaccurate animal on the map is enough
Ok, I don’t have Vurhunga so
