For comparison a wood of almost same color/value.
The new wood looks more like a bad printed wrap foil with a half-transparent whie over it.... Low contrast/very bright and way too big specular highlight value.
The preview on the left of the texture looks good - but not on the weapon.
Btw: on this gun there is still a bug, that the silences do not became the metal texture.

I don't think it is a bug, but intended. The texture is labeled as "Reclaimed Grain", and it looks like the effect you can get if you sand down old, stained wood, but don't restain it. It might be a bit exaggerated, but I don't dislike it either.

There are plenty of bugs in this game. I just don't think that this particular texture is one. I know, however, that from reworking old, stained wood, you can get this effect.

Old wood ist matte..this looks like it has been painted 10 times with semi-gloss clear varnish..with a bit of white paint mixed in
