I understand that labs are the best at what they do but I think it would be smarter to add a German Shorthaired Pointer as they do everything. The GSP is an all around hunting dog and I’d love to see them in the game in the future. With a lab you can do one thing and that is retrieve but with a GSP you can do all of the above. I just think it would have been smarter to add a diverse hunting dog.

It’s similar to Classic. You have a tracker (Blue-tick coon hound), a retriever (labradors), and a pointer (GSPs). Each has a use/purpose in the game. Reread what I said, a GSP is a retriever. They are one of the best duck hunting dogs.
It would be more useful to add GSP’s as they do everything instead of paying 45,000 for a new dog for a single purpose each time.

The breed of the dog is just an aesthetic skin, in this case the most common one was chosen, what is behind it is the implementation of a totally new mechanics, buoyancy of the dog on the water, new behavior to cross bodies of water without evading them, collect and movement of downed animals, new movement skins for downed animals, a total chaos of programming and codes that must work harmoniously with each other, adding more mechanics in the same update for the Dog to perform would surely cause a nuclear meltdown

What I really want to see is a dog to flush birds, so a pointer would be awesome. The Ptarmigan, quail and pheasants will often run rather than fly, especially if you're walking slow / crouched.

After a weekend chasing down dead birds in Hunt Club challenges , I'm looking forward to the new dog.

Make the pointer only able to retrieve specific animal types via chosen traits and other stuff. Honestly i can see how the balance would be off if you add a dog that does everything, but it would be cool to me cause I have a pointer as a house dog.
