As many know Russia covers a huge amount of land and with this a large variety of habitats and species. I believe this would lend itself well to the potential for a second Russian map! To avoid being a clone of Medved it would be preferable if this map was more focused on the mountains of Russia offering both a new environment and new species opportunities!

Returning species: really any Medved animal could comfortably fit on this map although it would be smart to leave a few as Medved exclusives such as the reindeer and musk deer. Additionally existing species could be modified slightly and represent sub-species spread across Russia like the 5 sub-species of brown bear and 4 sub-species of moose found in Russia. Species such as Chamois, Red Deer and European Bison could also fit well in this map.

New species: A map like this has opportunities for a huge variety of exciting new species such as
Asiatic Black Bear (Class 7)
Maral (elk subspecies) (Class 8)
Izubr (elk subspecies) (Class 8)
Siberian Roe Deer (Class 4)
Altai Ibex (Class 4)
Gobi Ibex (Class 4)
Caucasian Tur (Class 4)
Marco Polo Sheep ( Class 6)
Snow Sheep (Class 4)

Great ones: Every new map seems to need a new great one to come with it now so for this map the Wild Boar would be a obvious choice. However, if they are included in this map Russia does have a sizeable population of European Bison (far more then in Germany) so a great one Euro Bison is not out of the question. Hunting a huge bison through the thick Russian snow would instantly make this map one to remember.

So Would This Kinda Be A Combo Of The Southern Urals And The Caucasus?

Yea It’d be hard to pull off a map focusing on one specific area and still have enough unique species to satisfy people so it would be a more loose interpretation of those areas like how Cuatro is.

Way more loose.

This could easily be 3 separate maps and still have a number of unique animals in each one

For example this thread https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1117315981849669662 covers the Caucasus Mountains (though we could always use more takes on the idea)

Based on your species list we could easily have 2 other maps
• One set in the Russian Far East covering Kamchatka Krai, Magadan Oblast and Chukotka which not only allows for Kamchatka Brown Bear, massive reindeer and giant moose but almost variety of Snow Sheep (Chukotka, Kolyma, Koryak, Kamchatka and possibly Yakutia and Okhotsk Snow Sheep aka a Cuatro for Snow Sheep)
Edit: Forgot there was a Kamchatka reserve: https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1154044503838162964

As for the Izubr a.k.a the Manchurian Wapiti we could have a very densely forested reserve set in the Khabarovsk Krai with Izubr Wapiti, Asiatic Black Bear and Amur Brown Bear, The Amur Moose (the smallest moose subspecies in the world), Siberian Roe Deer, Musk Deer, massive Wild Boar, Manchurian Sika Deer and if we stretch the reserve just a bit further north we could also get Okhotsk Snow Sheep and Reindeer and if we involve a bit of creativeness we could get the Long-tailed Goral in the same way Musk Deer got in

As for the Gobi Ibex and Marco Polo Sheep, they last time those animals were considered part of Russia was back when Russia was the Soviet Union
