In the Plains of Africa you’ll need all the power you can get, introducing the African Hunting Rifle Pack. This pack will set you up to hunt all the Old Wold Game you could dream of in the cradle of mankind. (I might turn this
Weapons in this pack include
Remington Model7 7mm-08-2 ammo types,2-6 and 4-7
• .318 Rimless Nitro Express-4-9/10
• .416 Rigby-8-10
• .458 Winchester-8-10 (.470 would now have the same class range)

Alongside this pack Cape and Water Buffalo would be Reclassed to 10 (as much as it would be perfect to have an Hippo for that icon….)

#

A few scopes I’d like to see with this pack would be a 2.5-15 or a 1.5-6X which would be perfect for dangerous game.

I'd like to introduce the .318 Westley Richards (still around just super expensive)

This was introduced around the same time as the 9.3x62mm and .375 began competing so it got overshadowed a good bit. It's a actually a .33 caliber rifle but has the distinction of being a well known Ivory hunter's friend.

In Fact, W.D.M Bell in his book the Wanderings of an Elephant Hunter states "Of all the arguements had around the camp fire about the best cartridge, the .318 seems to come up least often, perhaps its due to the unique bullet it is most often loaded with but I've yet to meet anyone who denied the usefulness of this rifle. I've hunted elephant and buffalo with it, and i've come to rely on it for all manner of game big and small

Very interesting!

raw copper

The amount of elephants he killed is astonishing and he attributed almost a hundred to this caliber

#

Nickel plated/capped bullets, apparently designed to punch thru elephant skulls from the outset

4-9 I guess? They apparently shot at everything and it worked just fine

#

omg it's cool like this, the scope is mounted too high tho

You read enough and caliber doesn't matter half as much as shot placement anyway. also they would just keep shooting til whatever it was died or they got bored

Would love this!

I would still save the class 10 spot to one day have a hippo for that icon

add a 375 too

.376 Steyr Dragoon Scout rifle might be an option, apparently its a thing

Maybe the .454,but handgun laws in Africa especially when it comes to hunting are sometimes stricter than other countries, however .454 has been used for all of the big 5 (it might need to be reclassed or new bullet grain as it might be a tad too op to be 4-10.)

cut off seems to be the .700 NE, you know, the hippo drops and you get to see a .10k rifle in a tree after you wake up from a coma (if you wake up)

#

585 Nyati and a .22LR, i feel like this was done on purpose for reasons other than a scientific comparison of size

Westley Richards .425 bolt action rifle. Compared to other bolt action rifles it has a more unique build to it, with its more prominent magazine, this high end rifle would make for an excellent rifle to add

#

I’ve held one these irl before. The bolt is beautifully smooth and it’s all around one of the best rifles I’ve seen.

my wife would disagree but it is very nice, honestly I just like these older styles and materials much more than modern stuff. the older cartridges were purpose made to bring down animals, most modern cartridges seem like they are meant for paper and competition (6.5 Creedmoor)

anyway, I'm hoping for weapons with actually useful iron sights. I like the extra challenge and traditional looks an iron sighted rifle

raw copper
#

this would be great to see on a new lever action or even a falling block type of rifle, very accurate and traditional look

cosmic crypt

On one of these two, heck yeah

raw copper

this is a customized Winchester 1894 using that tang sight, caliber in this one is .356 Winchester. The cartridge, at the time it was designed, was meant to be a high power alternative to the longer and heavier 1886/1895 class rifles chambered in .45-70

Not a rifle but uses rifle bullets; What about a howdah pistol? Something like the .577/450 Martini–Henry used by Patterson on the Tsavo Man-eaters. Cause the .470 takes up too much space and I don't feel like grinding pistol score for the .454 Rhino's high pen bullets.

We really need these rifles in the game!

I'm bumping this up because we still lack class 6-9 weapons in a bad way
