Another companion to find quarry that may require harvesting, but from above that you can see on the map as well.

Less intrusive with a companion being up high perhaps.

Imagine a snow owl by your lynx in MEDVED, an eagle next to your downed wolf in YUKON VALLEY, or a falcon perched on your turkey in SILVER RIDGE.

If you have another idea and/or companion to suggest please share. 🙏

Falcon, Owl, Eagle, floating Corgis etc.. - whatever floats your boat, sail the seven seas with it.

def a good idea, and they could possibly hunt birds out of the sky for you? with a cooldown

Never would have thought about that, you’re very creative!

Mousers (domestic cats used for hunting small rodents and birds)

What kind of Mouser do you envision? Like a tall Maine Coon, a smaller Burmese, or more in the middle like a Siberian Cat?

it could also scout out near by animals and put like a marker on ur screen or direct you towards them

That sounds helpful

“Seeing the map” probably wouldn’t be possible due to render distance

Hello Anthony B.,

Thank you for sharing your idea about adding avian hunting companions to the game. It's an interesting concept that could add a unique and immersive aspect to the hunting experience.

While we can't promise immediate implementation, your feedback is valuable, and we'll certainly consider the idea as we explore potential future updates and additions to the game. Your input helps us make theHunter even more enjoyable for our players.

If you have any more ideas or suggestions, please don't hesitate to share them with us.

I feel that this would be way to OP. Especially when this game is already super easy

We already have the dog for that though

Ok. I just dont use them because you can see where you shot them on the map and tracking is ez. Also what does less intrusive and scouting the landscape have to do with each other?

Ok I wasn't trying to ever make this into an argument I was just trying to point out some things that dont make sense

It seemed like you were trying to make an argument out of this but I was just mistaken ig.

I honestly read it as a discussion. LOL

Here's my two pennies worth:
I really like this idea for tracking (not for hunting). The dog is annoying when I'm crawling and it goes into critical position. I hardly ever use it and only if I have completely lost a trail, which is probably about once a month.
I'm not sure how necessary this feature is though and that it is something that would ever be developed, considering that, apparently, the work into creating the dog was a lot more than creating a map. Regardless of all that, it potentially have some really nice graphics and animation as you watch the bird take flight, tracking, landing on your arm, perching on the prey etc etc.

I have never seen or read about the Falconry used to tracking downed prey, birds of prey are not compatible with firearms, their ears are sensitive, if a gun was fired next to them I am sure it would cause irreversible damage to the ears in addition to a panic attack, that is the reason why it is not allowed to carry firearms when used in the field..
I also don't see a way to fire a gun while using the falconry glove...

It still surprises me that there aren't more threads or requests for Falconry here, since the game came out the developers have mentioned it several times and it always appeared as an option in the surveys, nowadays having the Dog system implemented it is easier than ever add them :/
I think I'll make a thread about that..

Perhaps a Starling and Pigeon backfill

In reference to hearing one could say the same about a dog, horse, etc. Hunting companions all require conditioning and training as well. It is a game after all.

This suggestion is merely an alternative companion option to a K-9, that would allow for a less intrusive approach to avoid line of sight/shot issues that occur from time to time with the blood hound.
