This is a subject that has come and gone,so I figured I might as well give my two cents on it.There would be many pros and cons to this feature some of which would be:
Range of only 1000ft (and would replace all Feed Zones within that range)
•Would only attract low scoring animals for the first few ingame days placed (would not be affected by time travel, meaning you’d have to wait it out)
•40k to place a large pile 20k to place a small bait pile,10k to resupply either (based on ingame economy)
•Would have to buy entirely new piles for each map because diets vary from continent, country, state.
(These would all be up to EW)
And Ofcourse the Pros!
•New way to hunt, gives tree stands some love
•Would show off what these animals eat (showing us that there is a appropriate way to bait animals dietary wise)

Now that we have E-Calls,I think it’ll be much more easy to implement this!

I'm normally opposed to feeders or bait stations because I feel like feed zones already do this. however, I would be okay with this if it can be very limited and restricted. I would also think that if you place a bait station down on the map then the closest feed zone to the bait station is automatically removed . If the bait station is not properly maintained then it is also removed and a new feed zone is randomly created in that area.

They can also add feed stations like how they do hunting structure is set places, so EW has some more control over them. I would love feed stations. What they can also do with feed stations is that animals in the proximity scare more easily and hunting pressure adds up sooner. Because they are more aware, making it a more fair hunting option instead of the new way to grind. Like if you wanna get that one diamond it can be done but you can't shoot all the bucs in the herd and expect not to be punished.

A good way to do it is have a decay timer per unit. Let it stack depending on how many you throw down.

I like this idea but I think the initial cost in the OP is a little excessive. The bait stations should initially cost about the same as a tent but you are limited to maybe 4 per map. ..... Additionally you must pay to keep it filled otherwise it reverts back to a normal feed zone .... So over time they could become costly to maintain .....

This thread needs some love ... I like the idea of temporarily removing close by natural feed zones while the bait is active ....

What I like about adding feeders / bait piles is that you can now take advantage of some of these badly placed static map stands .....

On some maps especially after animal resets to static map stands are just not in a very good location ....

But if they added bait / feeders in the way described in this thread you could actually make static stands useful again ..... please add feeders / bait ...

The feeder structure and the bait worked very well in the games Trophy Hunter 2003 and Deer Hunter 2005. I don't think it is a complex implementation in COTW.

#

I think the Range of attraction of each bait is relatively distinct similar to the case the lure for fish.

I’m picturing a harvest screen of a raccoon with a face mashed with peanut-butter. 🙌 😆

The idea is that the bait/feeder would function like a natural feed zone and any natural feed zones in range would be inactive while the player made feed zone is active .....

Any animals that normally go to a natural feed zone would now come to the player made feed zone .... feed zone times would be the same as the natural feed zone .....

The advantage would be that the player made feed zone may be placed in more open area ....

I'd like to see baiting for carnivores like lions

I see there’s a plastic barrel in Askiy Ridge. Why don’t we use it to make a bait for black bear hunting?

Is the post feeder functional with the remote?
