theHunter: Primal is was taken off Steam due to its bugs, and poor reviews, though even with these issues, many people still play and enjoy the game, though due to its limited availability, prices of keys for the game have rocketed up to nearly $70 USD, and yet people still buy the game despite its spike in price, showing just how much potential this game has, and how much it's adored by players.

theHunter: Primal may be unfinished, but it's the best prehistoric hunting game out there by a landslide, and having it back on the steam store would be fantastic.

Here's a petition to bring it back, we've already got 100 signed, let's make that 100 more!!

There's been also, just so few Dino hunting games that really hit the mark.. I think that with the current team, and the funds it could bring, it'd be well worth to do perhaps an interest check among the community

One on PS4/3 was Carnivores, It recently got a remaster and it's back up for double the price. I loved it on my ps3 so I just might jump back in. I don't really have a pc capable of running Primal, Classic, or CotW but I'd still like to see it come back from extinction

Just another thing, they should make guns like extremely loud (not all guns but I think you get what I mean if you read the next part). Like if you want to hunt a REX, oh boy do they have a gun for that. But if you shoot it, everything in a large proximity will hear. Making you their target. Making it more realistic by being able to shoot large dino's with 1 or 2 shots but giving a huge penalty. And for example, shooting a sauropod clean in the head doesn't require a big cal liber. But the head is the trophy organ, making it stupid to shoot it. This would make you think twice before shooting big stuff especially when 2 rexes are close. Or you just passed a big group of raptors you don't wanna mess with.

They don't need to be actually loud, just have a loud effect. And compared to the atv this is a 1 time thing you can prepare for as the atv is constant

That's just it, if it is auditory-loud - personally, I would rather just never use it. Which would defeat it even being in the game for me.

If it is normal volume but has an AI effect like "oh damn that's a sound" it'd be awesome

Yeah, you could, but I also think it would be weird to be able to turn gun sounds off or near silent when we want them to have an impact on the game. Making it a weird thing to be able to just do something in the settings with it.

Making sliders would impact one of the main experience in the game, the gun. Just like shooters where there is no slider, I don't think there should be one here. Sometimes being forced to play a certain way is part of the experience. I myself would know that if I could just turn down gun sound, I would. Because it is more efficient to hear other stuff when I know my gun makes noise. That being said, I also think there are other solutions for it. What they could also do to stimulate earmuff and really make it an ingame expirience. When you dont use them get kinda stunned. But when you do use them sound around you also becomes muffled. Making it a real aspect of the game.

I vote to remake Primal in an updated engine and way so that it's more like COTW and not Classic. Make it single player as well. Prehistoric Hunt is really cornering that market right now, and a new Primal could be extremely epic.

i think one of the big problems with thp was that it was to much like the normal hunter games. People would get killed just because the movement was slow and scoping in and out was a big issue. for less problems it would be better for it to be less like cotw, in my opinion

i think it would be better to make a dino survival game that way your not limited to what you can do lore wise also it would make exporleing more interesting you start with next to nothing myabe a melee wepon or pistol and have to work your way from thir base building crafting much like in genzero but dinosaurs and insted of a guided story its implied lore

Of course I am not speaking on behalf of the developers, but when Primal was on Steam, but not being supported, there were endless messages to "fix" the game and (naturally) negative reviews. I suspect rather than deal with all that, they just got rid of it. For everyone who wants Primal, try the game Prehistoric Hunt; the devs are clearly very much inspired by Primal (and theHunter), and actively developing it; there is a free demo.

Yeah, I have seen the game, it is not up there for me yet. Same for hunter primal to be honest, but was watching the development with great interest. It just didnt have enough species for me to enjoy it yet. Same for prehistoric Hunt wich is already better in my opinion.

That will never happen, the devs do not communicate through this channel, nor will they give information about content development or future projects.
The game development is decided by the central company that is Avalanche Studios Group, here only suggestions are made that hopefully will be taken into account but only by the Expansive Worlds studio and for the development of theHunter:CotW.

Hopefully this suggestion will reach the Future Projects area of the central studio, but it has no real weight for the development and investment of a new game

TH: primal is relatively old and in the same field as TH: Classic. the concept was amazing, but due to the age and lack of development support (and success), the game was basically abandoned

Just keep out the survival looking for equipment part from the old game just straight up hunting cotw with dino's as a spinoff the creature pool is almost endless and just go wild with weapons and equipment you can purchase in the hunt Store and deff add a lodge with cool mounts its a winner

it’s fun i guess but it lacks any soul that the other hunting games have, I’d like to say that the animations are goofy but it’s not even that, they’re just sorta stiff, and the dinos just run straight for you so most of the time a brachiosaurus for example is no challenge

I like the idea of a sci fi theme where you are a time travelling hunter and you go back and hunt all manner of prehistoric fauna for study in the present, and they get mounted for your museum instead of a hunting lodge. You have your standard color variations like The Hunter, but for fun you could also have variations with more feathers, less feathers, scales, spines and skin (like the Dino’s in the first Jurassic Park). Could have a lot of fun with that. Plus different maps could go to different time periods.

I have primal and i liked the concept. But one thing i hated was the Equipmentgathering. Give me the regular loadout Options and let the hunt begin

I think the pleistocene (ice age) is ripe with animals as well that would perhaps be a more analogous fit for the type of hunting the current COTW provides. Hunting a camelops or mastadon or mammoth across the steppe. Bunch of pronghorn relatives, or the old horses and bison we used to have (in the Americas) and of course you get into some of the "oddballs" like giant sloth or glyptodont
