Makes no sense that these don't exist already, imho. And it shouldn't work differently from the animals that don't have drink zones. I have a memory of a gold fish so can never remember where I find the burrows so I'm only harvesting at two locations on Te Awaroa atm.
Some of the game mechanics should already be there to make this possible.

It’s kinda obvious,once you think about it,Bump is our way of getting the suggestion to the top,as on discord there’s a feature that’s called “Recently Active” that brings a post to the top every time some chats,so saying “Bump” brings it to the top for more people to see who might’ve not seen it previously.

I agree they need to have a marker for their zones at least. All animals in the game should also drink. I'm sorry but if the animal isn't drinking it's going to die IRL so they need drink zones.

I don't really agree, a rabbit or hare gets most of its moisture from its food and from dew on foliage or small puddles. Giving this species a dailly drink zone doesn't seem natural. The same for jackals, they get most of their moisture from their prey. But maybe the can add it that these species have a random chanse to drink. So you can sometimes spot them drinking. But i doubt they will do big behaviour changes

Australia has a worse rabbit problem than NZ.

I really hope this is something that is included in the next patch update or fairly soon. I know small game is not everybody's thing but I do get a kick out of blasting them with pellets when I come across them, especially on TA. I don't have any hare or rabbit diamonds so adding need zones for these would really make it more possible and a fun grind.

I don’t mind the current system of only burrows, but I would like them to be marked on the map permanently until deleted by hunting pressure. (They are marked temporarily now.) They don’t need to necessarily be exactly there every time (more of a “burrow zone”) but they should be in the general area.

Yes, but that was my point. The marker disappears after you quit. The burrow may or may not reappear in the same area again, but I'm not going to remember where that was on every map. If there was a need zone-type maker that indicates the general area, that would be good.

As far as I can tell, all species follow the same path and return to their need zones in exactly the same way, same place and often facing the same direction, unless your presence alerts them and disrupts their animation. I've tracked a diamond springbok's entire 2 km route this way over a couple of days so I could find the perfect spot to take him down. I have diamond wolf (🤞) doing the same thing and settling in the exact same drink spot and facing the exact same direction which is his butt to me. 😂

The lab and ecaller has added so much more fun to gamebird and waterfowl hunting that I really want to see all hares and rabbits also added to the ecaller. Along with need zones for euro bunnies. It just makes sense.
And no, I didn't bother with the rabbit mission. LOL

I can NEVER find euro rabbits because of the lack of map markers, they are purely targets of opportunity for me because there is no way to remember where I e spotted burrows other than keeping a separate map of them myself

So many rabbit threads on here. This is clearly a very popular request but it is hardly ever discussed on the live stream. I strongly feel that small game hunting could do with some love and attention. In terms of mechanics, both waterfowl and hare hunting need a complete overhaul but some small changes like the icons would very much appreciated by the community.

More than feeding areas, the European rabbit needs a rework because I hunt them in real life and they don't look anything like how they are made in the game, I'm not talking about textures but about mechanics, movements and obviously the burrow system.

Exactly. Like the clearing areas for beaver on the new map, there should be a marker for burrows on all maps.
While burrows disappear if all rabbits get harvested, it can't be hard to code them like any other need zone. At Salzwiesen Park I have set up tripods/tents at the larger burrows and managed not to close most of them. Even so, It would be nice to have a marker, and I frankly don't understand why there isn't one.
While I have seen comments to indicate that there are tools available to enable you to find the burrows, it seems to me that Epic, with their distaste of mods, would prefer to give players an in game option.
But perhaps I'm mistaken.
