Dear devs, @median urchin
I 'think' I may have found what is causing this problem on Xbox that removes all items from maps when we experience an unexpected internet disruption.
Firstly, I'm likely to get a few obvious things wrong as I'm not an experienced gamer and my knowledge is a bit basic/lacking. The Xbox series X is the first console I've owned and COTW is the first/only game I play.
So... I hope these points make sense.
- I have purchased all the maps and weapons DLCs.
- When I have an internet disruption, all items from the same 5 maps completely clear and return to storage. Also, weapons from certain weapon packs suddenly disappear.
- When I first started playing COTW, I bought all my DLCs via the Microsoft store and installed them on my console.
- In the last month, I bought all the remaining DLCs via the in-game Avalanche store (Downloadable Content) which I assumed was automatically installing them on my console.
- This morning, frustrated, I decided to dig around and discovered, via the Xbox Home page and 'Manage game and add-ons', that in the Ready to Install section, under 'Internal Storage', all the DLCs that I had bought via in-game shop were listed.
- So I proceeded to install all the files onto my console and now all my maps and weapons are available offline.
- I think this should resolve the issue, for me at least, so I will continue to play online so I can access multi-player and Hunt Club.
It seems that the in-game shop does not automatically install the DLCs on the Xbox consoles which is causing the conflict with Microsoft when user's internets go down.
I've probably covered a lot of obvious stuff, but as I said, I'm a bit stupid when it comes to all these game techy things. Regardless, I hope this offers some insight for other Xbox users and perhaps the devs too.
