First time making a suggestion on an official Discord. Glad to be a part of this and THANK YOU for having this set up for the community to give direct feedback. Triple A studios would never do this.
Anyways! I am a new player so try and keep in mind which perspective this is coming from.
When I shoot something and track it, I often end up finding more animals as I am tracking, sometimes I'll end up having to track 3,4,5 different animals. I DO LIKE how there is a green "last spotted here" marker that the UI auto generates. But it would be nice to have the ability to manually set more than 1 waypoint. That way I can have the ability to see them without opening the map.
Maybe have different colors or icons to pick from and/or the ability to name the waypoints "lvl 9 red deer - DEAD", "lvl 5 fox - Last Seen", "set up tent here", "future tree stand". A good example of what I'm thinking is the marker system in 7 days to die.
Since there is 2 ways to create a waypoint 1) binoculars & 2) clicking on the map.
- I think that using a "wheel" system would work well with the binoculars (to pick from different colors or icons) similar to Call of Duty / Valorant when you try and ping an enemy or location. (See picture example)
- For the map, I think a similar system to 7 days to die would help out A LOT. (Example: https://youtu.be/M-c_abWOWsQ?t=94)
Please comment if you think this would work or if you think it would look better a different way. I think this would be an excellent quality of life feature that the community would use all of the time.
