#A Lever Action DLC and additional Higher Penatration Ammo Type For ALL Lever Ammo

Firstly, I know this has been brought up before but I'd like to give this simple solution to make the Lever action rifles in game alot more viable as they're currently over looked by many due to their lack of performance. The idea is as follows:

A higher penetration Ammo for current Lever actions in the form of a hard cast lead round to give a high penetration option and as a DLC to run alongside and flesh out the Lever action roster.

  1. .22 mag tactical lever action rifle, Class 1-2 with a 6 round mag.

  2. .357 mag Lever action, Same Class as the Revolver as is using the same ammo but the ability to be deadly from the lever action rifle ranges with a 5 round mag.

  3. .454 / .45 lever action, Class 7-9 for .454, Class 2-6 for .45 with a 3 round mag and for balancing purposes a weight of 6.

Imo this would completely flesh out the Lever Action Rifle roster and give an option for all Classes of animal. Thank you.

Idea has come up after a comment @uneven rune made on another post

Absolutely.

I mean If 45-70 gets buffed I’d almost certainly need a rolling block.

And add a sight or scope for the 10 GA

I like this idea, we ought to have more lever actions in the game.

Also,45-70 buff

Buff the 30-30 at the same time

Tables tell you a lot, the FTX is a polymer tipped round, the accepted standard for whitetail deer is 1000 ft lbs of kinetic energy, the .30-30 is a great deer round, but it will handle caribou just as easily.

See, deer (everything shy of moose) and antelopes are all thin skinned animals, so are black bears (should be class 5 or 6 but that's besides the point) all of them are easily in the .30-30's wheelhouse. HOWEVER there's a European misconception that the .30-30 is only big enough for roe deer, IF the devs had actually done research they'd know it's a got a reputation for killing more big game than almost any other caliber in the U.S. I grew up hunting with nothing but a .30-30, black bear, feral pigs, whitetail deer and nothing ever needed a second shot

It's not a gun anyone would use for raccoons, foxes, or almost any other class 2 animal, Coyotes sure but they should be class 3

Well we got the 44. Mag in the ambusher dlc so here's hoping we see a buff to the lever cartridges 🤞🏻

I wish it was 2 to 7 so I could use the new rifle for fox but it is what it is

uneven rune

We still need a .357 and .454 lever action

I’d love a lever-action in .444. 🫠

So this is a .357 magnum, it would be a perfect addition to the game and they don't even need to mess with the ammo, just add this and bingo, the new dream gun for roe deer on Hirsch and hog deer on Emerald

Also, i gotta point out this little bit of info. A .454 lever action (and the revolver in base game) SHOULD be fully able to use the .45 Colt ammo introduced by dlc. the .454 chamber is an extended .45 colt with more than enough room to safely fire the shorter cartridge and the bullet diameter is exactly the same caliber.

this is about as tactical as i care to go with lever actions. it's a .44 mag and it can be broken into two pieces for easy storage/survival kits

There really is something to be said about the polymer cartridges for lever-actions.

Since I discovered Hornandy’s polymer-tipped lever-evolution series I have had some seriously ethical harvests. Caught a buck bounding down a holler at the base of the neck, (nerv. cluster and circulatory shot.) While field-dressing I observed a through and through, the wound channel’s cavity was fist sized freeing up the vitals below for a faster clean upward. Just a .44 Magnum lever action Henry Big-Boy X. He was gone before touching down.

[ Just a quick thought. ]

So perhaps, (ie.):

.357
Jacketed 2-4
Polymer 3-4
Hard-Cast 4-7

.44 Magnum
Jacketed 3-4
Polymer 4-5
Hard-Cast 4-8

.45-70
Polymer 4-8
Hard-Cast 4-9

What are people's thoughts on the new .44 magnum if they've used it? I'm yet to get it as I've still got another week at work 🙃

Just waiting for them to add a Remington model7 though….

Sounds like a must buy once I'm home. Now we need a .454 /.45 lever action, an update to the base game calibers and I'd be pretty happy with that line up of cowboy shooter 👌🏻

Maybe a .458 SOCOM lever action could take the place of a tactical .44 as the Moradi is fairly modernized perhaps 4/6-9

Revived. Honestly the "new .45-70 changes" apply only to the new pistol and it severely annoys me because I vastly prefer my lever guns

Winchester 1895 in 405 is a must for this
