I lost internet for about 10 minutes so I logged out of the game, then force quit, and turned off the Xbox X. When I logged back in, several items from about 5 maps have been returned to storage. This has wiped out a lot of time and effort in setting up those maps.
Surely this cannot be how the game responds to the internet going down?
Update:
It's been a couple of months and it seems that this issue has been resolved. At the time I had not realised that the DLCs that I had bought in-game, rather than the Microsoft store, had not automatically downloaded to the console and were being accessed online by the game. After making sure that all the DLC's are downloaded it to my console I've had no problems with items clearing from maps when the internet goes down.
