Kärga Peninsula and Archipelago National Park - A Swedish Hunting Reserve

Situated on the Swedish West coast, this reserve would offer an Archipelago, Hilly Fields, Variated Forests, and Farmlands like those on Hirschfelden.

While you might first think that it would look just like Revontuli, it wouldnt for the most part. While Revontuli is situated in the north of Finland, this reserve would be situated in the West Coast, which is situated in the south of Sweden.

New Species:

Harbor Seal
Harbor Seal would most likely be the most hunted new species on the map. It would be found almost entirely near islands in different sizes, from the largest one all the way to the smallest islands barely visible on a map. They may not always go to the surface of an island however, and will instead only see their head, which is where they are often shot at. You should therefor be able to shoot them in the head without any penalty to the trophy, like how you can shoot crocs in the brain. The Harbor Seal is a class 3 Animal.
For those who know Swedish, you can watch this youtube video:

Beaver
Beavers will be found near/in lakes, and in rivers and creeks. They will be found mostly resting near their nests. They are a class 2 animal, so a rifle like the .22H, .22-250 or .223 will be excellent for hunting Beavers. You would be able to use a caller, and that way locate them more easily.

Crane
Cranes will be found at fields. You can either go to rest zones and wait for them to come, or you can place decoys somewhere and wait for them to come to you. They are a class 1 species, and will be able to be shot with shotguns and class 1 capable rifles.

Whooper Swan
Whooper Swan will be found almost all across the map. They will be found eating in fields, and resting in rivers, lakes, and around the coast/archipelago. They are class 1, and quite big, so it wont be a challenge to hit them, unlike duck species.

Eagle Owl
You will find them sitting at the top of a tree, or hunting for marten, squirrels or crows. They can either be called in with a caller and decoy, or you could look around the forest.

Squirrel
Squirrels were technically in the game before, but not as a harvestable animal, and were later removed. It would be fun to search on the ground and in the trees for a squirrel, and then once you find them, shoot them with a .22 rifle.

#

Seagull
They would be found at the coast and Archipelago, where you can shoot them from your boat, or sit on an island and wait. They dont have a caller, so you would have to find them, or go to their zones. They are a class 1 species, so you can shoot them with a .22 from a distance.

Crows
Found everywhere on the map except for the archipelago, Crows will be a fun and easy bird to hunt. You can place decoys and call for them, or you can look for them at fields. They can be shot on the ground.

Marten
Found in the fields of the Kärga Peninsula, the Marten is a small and quick class 1 animal. They will sit in fields almost all day, but will spook very easily.

The Archipelago and Islands
The Islands wouldnt have just Seals and Waterfowl, Mouflon are known to inhabit islands on the west coast. Along with them, pheasents, cranes, foxes, rabbit/hare, and marten will be found on islands with Fields, that being Fältö and Måsö. Måsö however lacks Foxes and Mouflon. Mouflon inhabit the mainland aswell. Seals will be found on most islands, but in less quantities on the larger ones.

A generally solid species list….except for the Eurasian Eagle Owl, why though?

Also are Whooper Cranes legally huntable in Sweden?
(I’m aware the Tundra Swan and non-native Mute Swan can be hunted in some parts of the United States and Black Swan in New Zealand, so I am simply curious)

And while I am not to enthusiastic about another 4-8 rifle, everything else balances out, though if your rifle is being chambered in 9.3 (and I am assuming 9.3x62) then it could be a Class 4-9 rifle (up to you)

If your thinking of replacing the Canada Goose and Mallard Duck, might I suggest the Barnacle Goose (New Species) and Tufted Duck

I’m also wondering if including the Great Cormorant would work (to my understanding they are subjected to culls)

I also like the Archipelago section of this area and from the sounds of it the hunting would be fun on this reserve in general
(Forgot the cormorant picture)

Sorry for the late answer, but yes whooper swans are legal to hunt in Sweden. And About the Rifle, Im unsure if it could take down Bison, if it could it would most likely be just barely more powerful than the 7mm, I’ll look into this tough. And I will replace the mallard and Canada goose with those. And to answer the owl thing, it was just because I thought why not?? Anyway, thanks for the tip and feedback : )

A mission weapon I’d love to see come with this reserve alongside the Gewehr 98 is the Krag–Jørgensen Rifle,A beautiful woodgrain from 1886 chambered in 6.5x55mm which would be a 3-8 gun with enough power to take down a Roe Deer all the way up to a moose and elk

Thats actually a good idea. It would cover all of the mammals (including harbor seal).
