Hirschfelden
Eurasian Teal - Class 1
Eurasian Lynx - Class 3 (there is a small population present in Germany as of 2016; population in-game could be restricted to a smaller homerange to reflect this)
European Mouflon - Class 4 (coinciding with this could be a renaming of the Iberian mouflon, as European mouflon is the actual name of the species)

Layton
Green-winged Teal - Class 1
Mountain Lion - Class 5
Mule Deer - Class 6 (would require a reshuffling of deer home ranges to separate them; blacktail in the south-center-west, mulies in the north-center-east, whitetail scattered across the map; feasible if Layton exists in the area where blacktail and mule deer ranges overlap)

Regarding blacktail-mulie range:

Regarding mouflon range:

and just to make it clear, this suggestion post is talking about backfills of existing maps. Not new maps.

I like the idea for Mule Deer on Layton. I think the western half of the map would be Blacktail territory and the eastern half would be mulie territory. This would make it possible for them to add a Mule Deer great one too

#

However, I don't like the idea of Lynx on Hirschfelden personally, they spook so many animals and it would just make it even harder to hunt other species on Hirsch. Your other backfilling suggestions are great though.

New players have to get introduced to that mechanic somehow.

#

and mtn lions also spook animals.

Fair enough I guess. I just prefer Hirschfelden without predators spooking other animals.

and I mentioned for lynx on Hirsch specifically "would be restricted to a small homerange to reflect that the IRL Germany population is fairly small"

Eastern regions of the map would feel like they'd make the most sense
