Varmint Rifle Never Awarded After Interacting during Introduced Species Mission, Emerald Coast

During the "Introduced Species" mission on Emerald Coast I followed the steps and picked up the Varmint Rifle by interacting with it. The prompt disappeared to continue to the next stage of the mission, but the Varmint Rifle was never awarded and has not shown up in my storage or shop to purchase/equip. Neither the gun, ammo is anywhere in my storage or shop. The next step of the mission which is shooting the tin cans which I somehow completed by shooting the cans with the wrong gun (.22H Wasp) But am unable to progress past the shooting target due to not having unlocked the Varmint Rifle.

u need to use the rifile which is compatabile with 22-250 and not 22LR

can you post the screenshot.
actually the first thing you do once you reach the safe house is to pick up the rifile.
but yeah it doesn't no show up till you shoot the can i guess. i had similar issue.
but after than it shows up in the store.

here's my inventory and store to show the gun was never awarded, but the mission of shooting the tin cans has passed and I still have not gotten the gun so its impossible for me to continue the mission!

Yes I know that thank you, but it is not in my store so I cannot purchase it to complete the mission!

yeah i had asked screenshot for that reason itself.
i see that rifile bullets are missing from the screenshot you provided
