#Pelt/Rug Taxidermy Mounts

A pelt mount, also known as a rug mount, could give the player a new option with their trophy animals. Could be cheaper than a fullbody mount, but with the bonus of being able to be placed almost anywhere. Features a tanned hide.

#

These could also alternatively be referred to as "Rug Mounts" or "Hide Mounts", and they could be placed on a table, on a wall, or on the ground.

I’d pay for this

They could work on a variety of species, from smaller deer species like the Axis deer to bears and canids.

#

...and if you wanted to get EXTRA creative...

Feels like it's some kind of gore or something, I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around in my lodge and seeing some bears like that

but that’s just my opinion

Honestly, that's understandable! I completely get that it would not be to everyone's taste. The option could still be there to have a trophy be mounted as if the animal was still alive, but I made this suggestion as to give players more options for their trophies.

#

Heck I'd rather have a fullbody mount of an animal in a dynamic pose as if the animal was still alive, but I feel like with these pelt mounts/rug mounts the player can make more use of available space in a lodge.

#

I absolutely would rather have a taxidermy of a coyote hunting/sniffing the ground like this than a rug but i still like the idea of it being an option, especially to see like the different fur variants of animals

#

But if a player wants to mount their coyote like this, I feel like that should be an option. Possibly could be cheaper than a fullbody mount but with the added perk of being able to be placed almost anywhere. Be it on the ground, on a table, or on the wall. Fullbody mounts are limited in regards of where they can be placed.

#

Tanned hides can be currently seen in the game however are only in buildings owned by NPCs rather than the player (to my knowledge)

#

If anyone wants me to just delete the photos and repost them with a spoiler lmk, i don't wanna make any folks uncomfy

I love this idea. I saw a pelt hung on a wall of one of the in-game cabins and wondered "Why can't I do this with my harvests?" 🤠

We massacre so many animals every day that something must be done with them, I hope that at some point they introduce skin taxidermy and we have these trophies, and why not some clothes

Pretty sure there is a bear pelt in the Layton lodge and revontuli outposts so shouldn’t be too hard to add.
