I’m considering making my own whiterime remake suggestion but I have run into an issue. To get the species I would want on it would require some bending of species ranges and I don’t know how the community feels of that. I would greatly appreciate feedback on this.

I’m only downvoting because of the suggestion of range bending (I may change my mind in the future)

I am genuinely curious what the final results will be

Given how original Whiterime from Classic has both Polar Bear and Sitka Deer it could be that it is a mix of the Alaskan Arctic and Southwestern Alaska

The whole point of this poll is to see if there was a overwhelming amount of one or the other. If the results are against it I probably will just scrap the idea

Well other then the original species from Classic Whiterime

You got Caribou, Wolf, Ptarmigan and both Grizzly and Black Bear

If you want waterfowl there are species like King Eider, Harlequin Duck, Emperor Goose and Surf Scoter

For some extra game Wolverines & Marmots are fitting

If you want to add pinnipeds like I did Alaska has Ribbon Seals, Pacific Walrus, Harbor Seal and Ringed Seal

I'm all for bending a little if it makes a better game for everyone. I do think that it shouldn't be blown out of proportion absurdly though. I can't say i would vote for the remake because I haven't seen the options. MooseDragon has a pretty good list on his version.

@novel steppe I see. I would not agree with changes that would be illegal hunting. I would bend on location of the animal as long as it isn't endangered

With some animals there's honestly not much choice. As I've said, many people are opposed to the idea of any more NA maps.

and a map that's too similar to existing ones would also probably not go over much better than NEM did.

I think a whiterime remake (of any sort) is one of the only NA maps people would approve of.
I tried to make my suggestion different from anything we have in game now

I don't think we need a remake. Canada can have more maps eventually. Red Deer and Fallow have a ton of maps. Elk can have more than one eventually. Just my opinion.

I don’t mean a second Canada map in cotw. What I mean is remaking classic’s whiterime into cotw but with a few changes

I got you I miss understood. I just think we need more Elk map's and not just backfills. Red Deer and Fallow deer have had several new maps and Elk is stuck on 1 map. Originally I thought you was saying we only needed one map with elk which i disagree with. If they was to make a Roosevelt Elk GO it would be just as popular as the Red Deer. It's not right now because it hasn't been made yet. The 250 people in the group doesn't really show how popular it would be. I wish this group had more active people so it would show.

The US just has so much diversity in wildlife and environment. Even excluding whiterime I can think of a couple more US maps that would be unique and have new species

They could even do Horse Breed Packs with Different Breeds of horses,Some breeds Braver than others some faster

The Classic Wild Bay Mustang would be a perfect start,Good Bravery and Decently Quick,Agility and Maneuverablity could also be a stat they could incorporate.

I believe they are taking the same approach with Canada as they are Africa. Waiting till later in the game because it's such a hunting mecca. I know a lot of US hunters that dream about hunting in Canada and Alaska. If they made an Elk GO I would personally never hunt red deer again unless they made some more Fur and antler types

I’m hoping whiterime comes this winter. It’s a snow map during the winter so it already has that going for it and it’s the most upvoted map by far (I think)

In the stream they made it seem like that wouldn't be the case because of the no NA crowd. But that could be just to throw us off.

Canada is literally an untapped gold mine when it comes to species and environments.
