so i've been watching lots of compilations of baboon hunting and they are an extreme pest in some regions like where vurhonga takes place, and i've noticed that the primary weapon used against them that is also used commonly is the blowgun** (it uses a dart that looks like a smaller version of an arrow for those who don't know what a blowgun uses)** also baboons would be a great addition to vurhonga as it would be the first primate added to the game and lots of people love to hunt baboons

they are also insanely challenging to hunt (not like gators cus baboons hate water) which would add to the fun factor (they have incredible eyesight and can be extremely unpredictable)

not to mention the males make for quite the trophy and they are ALOT bigger than people expect

Blowguns and Baboons in one video
You’ve been watching a lot if Tim Wells haven’t you (I watch his hunting videos too)

There is another channel I watch on Youtube that does pest control for farms in South Africa and they tend to use rifles for baboons and either rifle or airgun for things like vervet monkey, ground squirrels and birds.
The rifles are used probably because they don’t require you to get close to the baboons, and especially the males which can tear a leopard to shreds

I do remember including Chacma Baboon as one of the species in this post https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1110018778978320476 for Vurhonga

Forget about the blowguns, they are not a hunting weapon, their use is illegal in all countries that are not in Africa, hunting poison is illegal, unethical and its sale and manufacture is prohibited, added to the fact that in the game less 5% of players can approach an animal within 10m to use them

Now I’m not necessarily defending blowguns, just pointing a few things out

And Blowguns are only half of what this post was about, with the other half being Chacma Baboons

And adding to the points about Baboons, it is not only their good eyesight that would make them a fun challenging addition to the game, it is the fact that there is more then a dozen pairs of eyes looking in all directions

For the aboriginal population it is allowed, it falls within the branch of subsistence hunting and cultural heritage, but we are hunters who need hunting permits to kill animals, and it is not possible to acquire one to use blowguns.

As for the monkeys, I have no problem with them, they would be interesting mechanics, now that we have kangaroos the 4-legged center of gravity scheme has been broken, I have no doubt that the studio will be able to create them

The "guards watching" mechanic can also be applied, similar to those of the Cuatro Colinas Ibex, where there is always one animal that is stationary watching while the others drink
