#[PS] Safefile bricked for the second time now

I don't know how often I heard or experienced this bug but the game somehow crashes while booting and won't load at all. If I use an old Safefile the game works like a charm again. I don't know where this issue comes from and the support doesn't know either or simply doesn't care. I sent many different corrupted and notcorrupted safefiles in (in January) but there never was any response if it's worked on or fixed and so I got the same issue again today. Luckily I learned from my mistake and do a backup on a USB drive reguarly now do it's not that bad. At least for me.

I don't know why you guys are not talking about this problem or recommend to other players to do regular backups so they don't lose their harvests and progress. You could at least put it in the known issues list. Shouldn't be that much work, right?

To the other players on console or PC: Do Backups. It'll safe your mood someday

Hi @potent mica we are so sorry you have this save game files issue and we are glad you have found some sort of a workaround. I can only reassure you that we are working on this issue.

This has happened to me 3 times in the past week. 4 times in total. I lost about 1-2 weeks progress the first time so I started making backups everytime i play. I can tell it’s going to happen when the autosave icon doesn’t go away and every few seconds the game freezes for about a second. Once that happens my save file is screwed.

It happened once again today after trying to jump on Revontuli Coast from New England. As @carmine star already wrote I was able to observe the same issue with the not disappearing autosave icon. If I remember correctly the first time (January) it happened right after changing a map, too and the second time (few weeks ago) I traveled from New England to Mississippi Acres to do the storyline and get my Quail back

Happened once again now after using my last used savefile from the 9th and trying to jump from Mississippi to Revontuli. I think the error could be somehow connected to switching maps with the autosave being overburdened. Maybe I should try to change the map by going to the main menu and try it again

Edit: I tried joining Revontuli from another map, from the main menu, in multiplayer etc and always get a bricked file right after. So the error seems to have something to do with the map itself.

I’m at the point where the autosave gets stuck everytime I try playing the game. It’s happened on 5 different maps and usually after the first or second harvest. I’m just waiting for the next game update to see if the issue is fixed. If not, I may consider restarting from a fresh save.

Hey guys, I'm on PS4 and PS5 and I have figured out that the autosave icon that doesn't complete the save happens if the mission system is enabled. It happens when you complete a certain amount of missions. Once that icon starts looping, you can even exit to the main screen, come back and keep playing but if you close the game your save will be bricked.
If you disable the mission system, you can play the game and not have the save problem... but what's the point if you can't do the missions?

I have sent my save files and a full explanation about the mission system being broken but have no received any but a canned response. This was a few months ago also.

I hope someone here knows more about this.

That's an interesting observation. Never thought it could have something to do with the missions. Guess Revontuli won't be playable for me anytime soon then because the main mission auto activates 🤦🏻‍♂️

I just installed the patch and tried to load in without the activated mission system and Revontuli is still broken. I don't know what to say anymore lol

I need to try turning missions off. I do like the missions so maybe I just start again. Annoying part is that I lose all the skills and perks and weapon scores.

My problem started right after I completed one mission so it would make sense. Although when the bug game again I hadn't done any other missions but go figure.

Turning off missions didn't help for me. I quess it's a new game then. Funny thing is that even though I turned off missions, one area on Rancho is still highlighted as there would be mission

The new Patch and new Map (Emerald) made things even worse. Now, even the file that I could start as an example jusat autosaves immediately, in a loop. Fortunately for me, I kept an old save from just before Revontuli and New England. I started from there and am able to play Australia/Emerald. I suppose it's just a matter of time until it breaks too. It seems that these devs either do not know what to do or do not care to do so, just cause it's PS4. I haven't had a single other game where the devs ignored a problem on the PS. These guys are the first, and the worst.

Just wanted to try out Emerald on MP. The save is getting corrupted like on Revontuli. I'm pretty happy, that I haven't bought the DLC yet.
@clear nebula any comment on this? Pretty audacious that no one of your team is answering

To be honest the game support has always been a bit let down. Most of the bugs I've managed work around on my own when support only suggest re-install and stuff like that

Yeah that's right. Unfortunately there is no real workaround this time if you don't want to lose your progress. I'm now on 1650 hours with many many trophies and it would be a pity if I would lose all if I want to play Revontuli or Emerald

Yeah. New game shouldn't take out the trophies though. I tried new game and the bug isn't there anymore. Let's see whether it comes back. Of course skills and perks and gun scores are back to zero 😅 I do still have the old back up saved but it's nice to be able to play again

Nice. Let's hope your file is going to work again when they are publishing the patch. I have no stress to get to the other maps hence I got some more diamonds to hunt on Mississippi and the GO Fallow 😅

I gave in and started a new game.. It's nice to actually play the game again. I still have all my trophies that I've tax'ed, so not a complete loss. I'll probably just continue with this new save even after the patch drops.
