Faster arrow change sort

I would love an easier faster way to change the arrow size while hunting. Love the bow, it makes hunting more challenging and it is a lot quieter for hunting pressures. I very seldom carry all 9 slots in my wheel, it would be nice to carry the bow and have 1,2,3 slots used for arrow sizes. Many times while hunting i will have the 420 and i will need something different by the time I switch to the correct arrow the animal is spooked and gone or fleeing out of range. To be able to switch to the appropriate size would be wonderful. There would still be plenty of slots for other gear as well.

With the item wheel it takes just over a second to change the arrow, make sure you have the Perk at level 3 that increases the reload speed of weapons otherwise everything will take a long time

I am glad i am not the only one that finds it annoying. Unfortunately i don’t have that perk and i never seem to have the funds for a reset of the perks always spending on other items tents for new maps, or old maps, gear , ammunition etc.

I just wanna clarify that you're aware you can change ammo types for all weapons through the wheel, correct? Bring up the wheel, mouse to the weapon, and then hit whatever bind it shows to cycle ammo (there's another bind for sights). Putting ammo types in entire slots would only shave off the last part of that.

@charred river yes i am aware of the wheel. I play on pc, it is still too slow by the time i bring up the wheel, select the ammo tab and then change the ammo size to the proper size 90% of the time if the animal is within shooting range most of the time it is spooked by then and fleeing and out of range.

Interesting, I haven't found myself in a situation where I thought the wheel switch was too slow. But with bows I rarely take targets of opportunity, usually I'm slowly creeping up on something stationary in a need zone. And frankly I'm worried that any solution that allows wheel slots to hold both weapons and ammo would be ripe for glitches.

In the meantime at least I'd suggest hitting the dirt as soon as something wanders up on you, if that's not what you do already. Without the prone shooting perk you won't be able to actually perform the ammo change while prone but you should still be able to select it and the animation should then start as soon as you get up. Hopefully the lowered visibility while you navigate the wheel would be enough to prevent it from spooking.

@north lake thanks for the video however mine is not like that nor does it load that fast, sure would be nice if it did then i wouldn’t have created the post to begin with.

@charred river i usually creep too, but most of the time while creeping something pops up on the way to the target and that is when it is different. I could use the gun, but then i would also spook the animal that i was originally targeting. I do understand your concern with glitches though..lol . Thanks for the advice.
