The Nilgai Antelope

The blue bull A.K.A. Nilgai native to India would be an amazing animal for cotw! They were introduced to Texas, between 1920s- 30s, on a large ranch near the Norias division of the king ranch, one of the largest ranches in the world.

Now, Nilgai are prospering here in south Texas better than it’s native country! Being a local Texan myself, I would love to see my favorite local exotic in such an amazing game.

In fact, the Nilgai is the largest Antelope in all of Asia. The males are referred to as bulls and females as cows. The animals are found in 3 different types of groups: 3 to 6 adult and yearling females with calves, 1 or 2 females with young calves, and bachelor groups from 2-18 members.

I believe this animal should go on the rancho del arroyo reserve because of it being so close to south Texas where Nilgai are. Another place would be a potential map/reserve in India where the blue bulls are native to!
