#LAYTON LAKE - Vualez #10, coyote downed with bow in 30 meters or less in Leviathan lake

You just have to be patient and lucky. Eventually I was able to do all the missions from Hirsch and Layton. And I can say both maps contain many of these missions where you have to hunt in a location the animal is almost impossible to find. I do not know why they did not change the locations for the missions when they were changing the animal distribution around the map.
3 weeks already, daytime/nighttime, no nothing from Coyotes, the last time I saw a coyote in that area was when I did the mission "Late Nights with the dogs". I also have tripods and treestands all over the area. Only deers, elks, and bears
Your best solution is probably killing some coyote packs around the map and hope they respawn in the area you need
Go there at night, the west end of the lake and look for some zones. If you have a tent there, move it out of the area and walk in. (Tents too close to zones will prevent animals from spawning; try to place it at least 250m away.)
I delete zones everywhere until they spawned here
Hello MgrTF,

We eagerly await your report!
You may also be able to carefully lure one in from a needzone a bit outside the designated area. It requires patience but is possible.
I set up a tripod on the left side lakeshore and called regularly till one showed up. Try especially at drink times, because the lake is the only water for a long way and they do pass through, they just don't leave need zones.
I also have not seen any coyotes by that lake
There were no need zones or sign when I sat up. I just kept going to my tripod on the shore there at night and using the caller till one came.
you might need to use caller.
this was one of the hardest mission.
seems like their zone have been re-distributed.
On my map they have a feeding zone at the west end of the lake that is active from 4.-7am. You might have to try a hunt at night.
As Snail Rancher says. There's a field SW of the lake, about half way to the lookout tower, where coyotes can be found from around midnight. Set up a tripod, get there before midnight, mask your scent, and wait.
