Badgers would be such a cool species to see in Cotw. They are very aggressive in real life and would be fun to hunt in game. They could have different fur variations.

American Badger: Backfilled to SRP and Layton and possibly added to a future NA map

Honey Badger: Backfilled to Vurhonga Savanna and possibly added to Africa 2.0

Eurasian Badger: Backfilled to Revontuli, Hirchfelden, and Cuatro, and could even be added to @placid furnace's Carpathian Mountains because they exist all throughout Europe

These badgers would likely be very aggressive in the game.

Fur Variations: melanistic, albino, piebald, leucistic, erythrism

-Badgers would be class 3 or 4

Badgers have an incredible fur morph known as Erythrism and I included it in my Romania post. It looks so freaking cool

it’s a protected species I think

Morocco, Israel and Kazakhstan are the only places where honey badgers are protected. They are not endangered either, they are a "Least Concern" on the IUCN Red list of threatened species.

I'm honestly surprised we don't have any badger species yet WOTH has three kinds.

You Could Also Add American Badgers To Rancho Del Arroyo. I Used To See Them All The Tims When I Lived In Arizona, And They’re Super Common In Northern And Central Mexico.

badgers are a great idea but class 2 is a bit optimistic. the wolverine would attack on sight and the honey badger is almost bullet proof as well as utterly fearless and aggressive you would need a class 8-9 rifle/pistol to safely pierce it's hide (it mainly hunts giant porcupines so its hide has to protect it from their quills and there have been accounts of a single honey badger fighting a pride of lions and winning not just coming out unharmed they could not even pierce its hide when they bit it).

It should be noted that while they are tough critters, wolves do hunt and eat wolverine and lions and leopards have hunted honey badger

#

They're extremely durable and are very intimidating, yes, but you're not gonna see a honey badger straight up kill a lion. Most cases its just too much work to actually try killing the badger. So the badger gets off free just because all that energy can be used tackling bigger prey.

#

For these reasons, something like class three seems reasonable, to me.

A honey badger can facetank a machete, but a bullet might be another story.

A Honey badger would have to be like class 6 or 5 because they are so tough and it would be cool if they were really really aggressive

We need more Furbearer/Vermin/small game and the burrow update/tree climbing update

All for it. I made a suggestion awhile back I believe in the Burrow Update thread that if we got Badgers we would need all 3 US, EU, & Africa. I'd love to see a multi-mount with all 3 called "The Collective." I also made a mention as a new species add for my reserve as well.
