The Reserve would be in the progresso area where there is mangroves & sub tropical forests, the iguanas, raccoons, coatimundis, lowland Pacas, roseate spoonbill, American flamingos would live in the mangroves and rivers, while the rest would live in the forests, the outposts would look like small camps by the ancient Mayan ruins, there would be tons of rivers and areas to hunt. The weapon idea is to introduce ancient spears.

I am almost certain both Flamingo and Spoonbill are not only protected but are not really considered game animals. While both species may have been hunted in the past is was strictly for selling their plumes to be made into big fancy hats

Not the Roseate Spoonbill, some duck species are known as “spoonbills”

If you want to hunt Roseate Spoonbills in a video game I do recall seeing (and hunting) them in the Bayou areas of Red Dead Redemption 2

Here’s a cool idea for a Yucatan map, at the end of the story arch they have you tranquilize a jaguar (green hunt style) to help scientists caller and relocate the animal. As a reward you get one jaguar trophy for your lodge. This would incentivize players to go through all the missions.

They could even add a black jaguar for one in ten players or something like that.
