On today's The Hunting Lodge stream @covert dune mentioned that the population scanner interferes with the game save/population files and ruins the spawns. Is there any other info on it or can it be more elaborated on what are the effects that it has?

Also once population scanner has been used, what are the correct steps to mitigate the effects on the spawn file? Should the map repopulation somehow be forced to reset the interference from the scanner?

Hello @trim nacelle ,
We are sorry but since using mods goes against Avalanche´s policy, we´re not allowed to give support to players using third-party software of any kind.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hi @jade axle,

I'm not requesting help on using the mods, i want to mitigate/reverse the effects that this mod has created. As i understood from the comment in the stream, this is also affecting the users joining multiplayer sessions while host is using the mod. I know hosts have used the mod while i have been in their session.

So my question is that how can i check if my save game is affected and/or can mitigate/reverse the effects this has created. Since i understand this affects the spawn files, would it be correct to somehow force the respawn of the population (by deleteing some files?) or this is not persistent and without the mod present i should not worry?

this mod actually doesnt interfere with the game population files. it just reads them so if u are having issues its something else. dont reccomend using it though cuz it takes the fun out of the randomness of the game. chances are, they have other mods like double diamonds or high rare mods etc thats interfering with animal levels and such. the way id check if your files are good is just to verify steam files via steam, and also go ahead and go on your solo maps and check if all your animals weights/estimates/size porportion are right. if u see anything funky like lv9 red deer with a level 3 rack, something is broke. or if u see like, 10 albinos at once then yeah broken. a fix would be to turn off steam cloud save in steam, go to your pop files delete them and go to each of your maps again (spawns new animals) dont use this to cheat though. just to fix your map
