If you are sneaking and come across a black bear or any bear that they would try to attack you like they probably would in the real world.

I respectfully disagree. Yes black bear attacks can occur, but they are incredibly rare compared to all other bear interaction. Almost always black bear will flee. When an attack occurs, it typically is a mother with cubs (this game does not feature cubs) or a bear that has been hand fed and lost the fear of humans. These bears are typically killed in the US as a result.
