About the Reserve

The Reserve can be divided into 5 Regions

Region #1: located in the centre of the map, it sits along the main river, and with a good mix of ecosystems, you can find almost every species on the reserve. One can see crocodiles basking along the river banks while herds of antelope and zebra graze in the nearby woodlands

Region #2: In the southeastern corner of the reserve, this region is mostly dominated by mopane woodland and is home to large herds of Buffalo, Zebra and Roan, which are hunted by the lions and hyenas. Hippos also graze here at night

Region #3: In the southwestern corner, this area is a continuation of the mopane woodland, though it has lacks the hippos and crocodiles. If you come here at night you might find smaller predators like jackals and civets or even the elusive leopard

Region #4: In the northwestern part of this reserve, you will find a series of miombo woodland and pockets of savannah wedged between 2 rivers. Animals like zebra, puku, waterbuck and roan all call it home, and as a consequence so do hyenas and big cats.

Region #5: The great marshland that makes up over 80% of this region is home to antelope such as the Black Lechwe, Tsessebe and the Sitatunga. Hippos, Crocodiles and Buffalo also live here and can be hunted from special hunting stands. A keen waterfowl hunter would be wise to set up here for the flocks of goose and duck that call the area home.

The Smaller Game: Side-Striped Jackal (from Vurhonga), Crested Porcupine, African Civet, Malbrouck Monkey, Sharpe’s Grysbok, African Pygmy Goose, Spur-winged Goose, African Blue Quail, Red-billed Teal and Crested Guineafowl

#

The Plains Game: Chobe Bushbuck, Puku, Bushpig, Sitatunga, Black Lechwe, Defassa Waterbuck, Tsessebe, Crawshay’s Zebra and Roan Antelope

#

The Dangerous Animals: Spotted Hyena, Leopard, Nile Crocodile, Buffalo, Lion & Hippo

I just realized that both this reserve and my Arctic Reserve have at least one species for each weapon class (1-9)

This is another really great reserve concept, well done! The species count is pretty high, but I'm sure that they could make it work if they spread out the different species over different regions of the map.

I do have some mission ideas for this reserve that are inspired by the missions on Emerald Coast

Antelope Country: Zambia may be well known for it’s buffalo and big cats, but the antelope also bring many hunters here. Try and bag a big one with different methods and tools. Remember: Each one has to be a Gold Medal Male

  • Hunt 1 Chobe Bushbuck with a Handgun at night
  • Hunt 1 Puku with a Shotgun within 50 meters
  • Hunt 1 Black Lechwe with any Bow or Crossbow
  • Hunt 1 Sitatunga with a Bow or Crossbow from a hunting stand
  • Hunt a Defassa Waterbuck with a Handgun within 50 meters
  • Hunt a Tsessebe with a Rifle without any attachments
  • Hunt a Roan Antelope with any bow or crossbow from over 50 meters

Most Dangerous Game: Zambia is well known for it’s more dangerous game, are you feeling brave enough to take them on (Must be Gold or better)

  • Hunt 1 Cape Buffalo with a Bow or Crossbow
  • Hunt 1 Leopard with a Shotgun within 75 meters
  • Hunt 1 Lion at night from a ground blind
  • Hunt a Nile Crocodile with a handgun
  • Hunt a Hippopotamus with a Rifle within 100 meters (a charging hippo will do)

Safari Album: Many people come to Africa to take photographs of the wildlife, can you get good photographs of every species on the reserve

  • Get a photograph of every animal species on the reserve

they should add elephants to zambia

Don't care for elephants so the hippos being the map's big boys are good with me, just want the lever gun to have the justice it deserves. Definitely fits a scope, either side saddle like the Helios in game, or a galileo type (popular for lever actions at the turn of the century)

I may put together a West African Reserve sometime soon but unlike my Zambian Reserve where it is focused on one country, it will be a rough combination of every country that has some sort of guided hunting and it won't be set in Cameroon that much I will say right off the bat. Also the one species I can reveal for it is the Warthog

No, there are Leopards and Lions on the Species List alongside 8 Antelope Species, plus Cheetahs would be more suitable for a map set in Namibia

I didn't know you could hunt so many creatures which seems incredible.

#

and if we have an idea and almost all the animals are huntable but some are not, for example 3 or 4 out of 17 animals in total, will this not work or will it not work?

Thanks, I tried to make sure the species roster focused on antelope in case Africa 2.0 focuses heavy on the Big 5 (Which I am all for, I would like a new map to hunt Lion & African Buffalo on)

Zambia is just one example of how a Plains Game focused reserve could look

Sure it has big cats, buffalo, hippo and crocodiles but the vast majority of the big game are plains game antelope ranging from the giant Livingstone’s Eland to the elusive Zambezi Sitatunga
