They allow you to carry more, but create way too much noise to be used efficiently. Plus, if they could be used the change full loadouts to swap back and forth on I think that would be more useful.

Well they have to have drawbacks for balance reasons, and I'm still unsure what you mean by swap loadouts. Do you mean use the backpack to swap loadouts without needing a tent or outpost?

Jamer that would be the idea, but Rexio raises a fair point about the carry capacity and I do agree that they would need to be balanced. I didn't say take away noise entirely, no... that is unrealistic. But perhaps your backpack itself could have a smaller loadout function instead of just putting things in it.
It sounded better in my head than on Discord I suppose. 🤔

The ability to swap loadouts on the fly would effectively give infinite storage, which isn't a very good idea
