#Cosmetic Rewards for Hunt Club

The Easter cosmetic pack being a hunt club community mission gave me an idea:

What if, for certain daily or weekly challenges, as the final reward you unlock a paint, wrap, etc depending on how difficult the mission is. Like, for example, for one weekly mission you have to shoot animals between 21:00 and 3:00. After you’ve killed like 35, instead of getting a cash reward you receive a black nighttime camo. Or hunting on a specific reserve will give you a camo or paint that goes well with that reserve.

For the people who don’t complete the mission, they’ll always be able to buy it from the gun customization screen but with the missions, you can unlock it for free.

Or, weekly missions reward you with hunting structures or tents. Like, shooting animals within 40m on top of a treestand gives you 2 treestands from the final reward. More variety within the hunt club missions would definitely make people more interested in completing the missions.

Diversifying Hunt Club rewards would make it so much more enticing to actually do. Would love to get some tents for free too lol

Being able to get free tents would honest to god be godsend for so many people that don’t have the money to buy them en masse

It was either @next cape or @shrewd geyser that brought it up in VC, but the problem of the tents being DLC was brought up and I have a solution for all the dlc items.

Give them to the player if they complete the hunt club mission, but require them to buy the DLC in order to place them. So they’ve still gotta get the DLC like anyone else but they can earn the reward anyway

I'm pretty sure tents are just bundled with the base game the majority of the time now, and it wouldn't hurt to add a few older DLCs to the base game anyway, most folks already have them or got them bundled on sale anyway

its free on console along with atvs but they are both a dlc on pc

In addition to the rewards suggested above, I'd like to suggest these for consideration as well:

  • create COTW steam achievements for completing milestone numbers of any hunt club tasks (25, 50, 100, 500, etc)
  • completing a milestone number of tasks on the account could reward a bump up in the chance of a rare fur spawns for any species on any map ( something like 0.25% granted at each milestone, so you get 1% increased chance after 500 tasks seems fair) <---- diamond spawn rates unaffected
  • completing hunt club tasks could also give you hunt club currency:
currency could be used as an alternative to money for buying things like uniquely modelled tents and stands
currency could be used to buy alternative skins for dog, clothes, ATVs, COSMETICS only

NOTE: hunt club points could also be considered as an additional reward for doing the missions on reserves, since a lot of people are max level and the money you get from completing them is not really better than just harvesting during free play

None of these are hard and fast concepts so if people would like to work these concepts further that's fine by me 😄

I like the idea of getting achievements and general rewards for completing a certain number of mission

However, i have to disagree with increasing rare spawns and adding a new currency. We don’t need to make the game convoluted with several currencies, also rare spawns should never be influenced in any way by missions or anything. They should stay as rare as they are right now, but I appreciate the time put into your suggestion

That's fair!

These were rewards that would be attractive to me as a long term player who doesn't really need the money to be honest. It'd be nice to have completion milestones for ethereal bragging rights, sure. But the feeling of working towards something is important too. And it could be another way to buy things that isn't just money - that avoids paid dlc. Seemed like one decent way to reward long term engagement.

Diamonds and rare fur spawn rates are a bit of a personal preference thing and it's not for everyone, I agree! I thought I'd follow through on the trend that some missions already spawn "rare furs" and there's a whole lot of cheating in the wider COTW pc community anyway. Not to mention that accumulating 500 tasks for 1% increase isn't likely to make an enormous change to the gameplay, but would feel like a significant game advantage for someone's dedication. Personal opinions may vary of course!

I'd like to see what other ideas for rewards other people come up with! This is a good thread :)

The whole idea of earning cosmetics and tents and such was my answer to end game players who don’t need money or anything anymore. Perhaps even earning ammo packs, attachments, etc which would help newer players.
I think rares are good enough as is. A 1% increase in rarity could potentially completely disrupt the rarity of a potential rare fur. I’m not allowed to say anything about the spawn rates but it would definitely make some way too common
