As of right now, chamois do not have a drink time. They used to, but it was removed. I get that having animals with no drink times adds to the diversity of the game, but does that necessarily make it realistic? There is currently no animals drinking from the times 18-3 on Te Awaroa, a 7 hour time period. I feel that a drink time in that time period would be beneficial, like a 3 hour drink time from 18-21.

I’ve included a map where they should drink.

Yeah, I think if all the rest/feed zones stayed where they are, but they had the drink zone, they could be hunted on the lakes, but could also still be hunted on the mountains for the people who enjoy that type of hunting.

This would be excellent. Also springbok could benefit from this as well.
Also make chamois drink time like 13-17 or something

Personally I like it the way it is now, that they don't come down from the mountains and have a different hunting method, it's really boring and it becomes too easy to hunt all the animals in the same way from the lakes 👌

That’s the price to pay to having a chamois drink time again. Can’t ask for everything

Combine their chamois drink time with red deer.

Now that I think about it, if they did do a desert map somewhere in either Africa, Asia or the USA (Gould’s Turkey), they could make it so certain species don’t have drink zones as a number of animals can get their water from the food they eat such as the Addax Antelope (a potential species for a Texas reserve).

Just a thought I had regarding the topic of drink times.

It's actually quite realistic, the Chamois do not need to drink liquid water, in winter they do not come down from the mountains since the snow covers the rocks and their hooves have no traction, they can go two weeks without feeding and only eat snow to hydrate, they get hydration by eating the snow.
In high mountains, the energy consumption necessary to go down and up just to drink is not justified, so sometimes they choose to consume the snow

Should we also get rid of respawning and actually have growth mechanics so that it takes weeks to see new deer that have to grow to size?
There’s many things that have to be adapted to allow for gameplay that isn’t ridiculously boring. Sure, it might not make sense that only one species is drinking at a time, I don’t know why EW chose to do it like this but that’s the way it is.

I’d rather general zones that animals have a “frequency” of occupying, where they drink, eat and rest at depending on time of day. That way the herds aren’t always in the same spots

#

But that would require a complete rework of one of the game’s fundamental mechanics, so I’m gonna keep my suggestions within the direction the game’s going rn
