Hello, EW!

I would like to suggest that the spawn rates for Great Ones be increased... perhaps just slightly less than say a melanistic or albino rares/super rares due to the fact that those of us who don't have the time or desire to grind forever to find one may otherwise never see one in our lifetime.

HOWEVER - I would also like to suggest that if the rate were to increase, the level of difficulty in hunting the Great Ones increase also. Some ways to accomplish this might be:

  1. Great Ones have no designated need zones. They roam the map constantly and stop at whatever need zone is closest on their route, or travel to a random one on the map when the time comes... and each day, the stop is different. Maybe even arrange it so they stop at OTHER species' need zones in all areas of the map.

  2. Their spook range is very high. You have to be the most patient, practiced hunter when trying to get within range. You must be more accutely aware of wind direction and muffling sound than with any other animal. Use of cover scent is basically mandatory.

  3. Calls and lures have a lower chance of working on the Great One than all other animals. They've been around and know all your tricks. They also smell your fear.

  4. They are more prone to attacking, BUT FAST... and they are basically a one-hit K.O. (Again, they smell fear...)

  5. The higher level you are, the more likely you are to succeed. If possible, maybe hunters between levels 1-10 spook Great Ones at even higher ranges, which incrementally decrease as you level up.

Right now, I feel that - while you do have to work so, so hard setting up effective grinds and such - once the Great One does spawn it's a pretty easy harvest.

While I can't speak for the whole community, I think I would feel more accomplished by having to pit my wits against a hyper-vigilant, highly elusive animal over a grind-spawned one.

The one part I agree on is making GOs more accessible to casual players. But this ain’t the way to go about it imo

That totally takes away from getting a great one. It's supposed to be a hard task and a GO is the reward.

I think the way the devs have it is good. It's supposed to be the rarest trophy you can get.

Well besides super rares. And perhaps ultra rares but those are a 1 in fuck off chance to get

I remember one individual brought up an idea; where whenever you load up a map, a GO has, say, a 1/10,000 chance of spawning on your map regardless of whether you’ve shot an animal of that species or not. It will then stay on the map up until you shoot it. However, it can appear at literally any zone on the map just as if it were a respawn. This doesn’t raise the existing spawn rate, it still means you’ve gotta check all your zones but having it be able to spawn randomly gives players a chance to get a GO of a species they may not be grinding

Initial spawn great ones are still very much a thing.
I wouldn’t be opposed to making great ones more alert than the rest of their herd. You know how when an animal is in a nervous state, they immediately go to alert when sensing your presence instead of attentive and then alert? Maybe have GOs have the same mechanic even when calm, have them be quicker to spook. And then when they’re nervous, have them immediately go to alarmed instead of alert

Not sure about this I believe a grate one is hard enough to get

It wold be nice a random one to sporn after so many kills on one map but it don't have to be all on one animal but I don't think this wold work either.

Currently a great one spawns in less that 10k kills but can be more
