honestly, it's really a shame that your game has so little respect for ballistics.

Im new player

you shoot with a 338 on a big game at 50 meters and you don't even do a double lung, the bullet stays in the right lung.

no kidding, even a 22lr would do more damage in real life

why not have made a joules system like your competitor?

which degrades the power according to the impact

it's indecent to put a 338 in your game and see so little damage with a bullet that never goes through the animal

in real life, with a 338, you cross two moose and you also kill what is behind

Cotw uses the Apex Open World Engine which is designed for terrain and scenery fabrication, all ballistic mechanics are mere balances to make all weapons usable and none better than another.
The competition uses Unreal graphics engines, a shoter engine designed to shoot bullets and reproduce real mechanics, there is no possible comparison...

Yet there's alot of useless weapons or weapons that just aren't where they should be. 223, 45-70, 9.3x74r, 30-30, ( 270 should be 3 to 7 not 4 to 8 with its current power same for 6.5). Even useful guns have some inaccuracies like 7mm ethical for cape buffalo and lions? There differently needs to be a rebalance of some sort because there's alot of guns now that just get over looked because they don't preform well and there's just better options, like the 300 just seems to be way better then the 338 in every way or how the m1, 303, 308 AR, 308 bolt action and 7mm bolt action all weigh 3.5 weight units but the eckers weighs 4.5.

Thing is though is that the 300 has way more expansion then it even though the 45-70 is a larger bullet. Its an ok round in cotw its just not as powerful on bison and moose as one would think and is more competing against 308, 303 etc instead of 300/338. As for 30-30 its more of a small game gun in this game more so then a deer rifle, just feels weird using a 30 cal bullet on a fox

What prevents me from using a rl 30 cal on a fox? Ethical hunters just don't do that. I personally would like to see them bringing weapons more in line with their rl counterparts while at the same time increasing the penalty for using certain weapons in an unethical way. This means less cash payout and eventually no ability to taxidermy animals killed in an unethical way ....

Another thing that can be done is increasing hunting pressure for unethical kills.

But at the end of the day what some players want to do on their on maps is really up to them . If they want to sim hunt in an unethical way then let them. However there should be greater penalties imposed on someone hunting like that while in MP. they should impliment a reputation score in the player profile and If someone has built a reputation of hunting unethically they should receive a timeout from MP until they improve their reputation...
