alligators not turning up

Playing multiplayer with my dad and we shoot an alligator, get hunting pressure but no alligator, we search the area but nothing

Did you shoot it in the water?

Shot both on land and it gone into water and in water

Shot at both lungs/vital organs and brain mainly lungs am getting hunting pressure

That’s your problem, when you shoot them in the lungs it takes a while for them to die and if they’re in the water too long when they die they despawn forever, so aim for the neck/brain but mostly neck to kill them quickly

I’ve just brain shot an alligator in the water, it died instantly and I got instant hunting pressure but no alligator, it disappeared.

Sometimes while they swim in the water they can sink and despawn so I’d advise to shoot them on land from now on
