Structure your files in a way where modding is a ton easier and don't have to be completely redone every (minor) patch. Add a workshop. That would be great for everyone, mod makers, content creators, casual and hardcore players. Modders could even hotfix existing issues until it is definitively patched by you, Expansive Worlds. Do make sure players can see what mods are active in a game they consider joining.

I hope that never happens

What sense would it make to get new maps, weapon packs, mechanics, if everyone could do what they wanted and have what they wanted? How would the studio make a profit?

The game tries to be a real hunting simulator in real environments with legal game species and legal hunting weapons, following the policy of not adding endangered or extinct species, do you think modders would respect that and would you kindly only fix errors?

If you could see what mods are active in the game you're considering to join, why would you be against it? It can only add to the game, unless you don't want them which you avoid by not installing them 🤷‍♂️

# hybrid marten Well since it's 99% a single player game, why do you care those people do what t...

Because you can't have tournaments, leaderboards, nothing competitive because modders ruin everything with their scores and absurd advantages...
And why would people want buy a DLC for a bolt-action rifle if they can have a UZI or a Bazooka or guns that shoot 10 .300 caliber bullets per second with unlimited ammo for free like PC modders currently do?
Studio profits will drop to Zero.

Mods ruin the simulation experience of the game that tries to achieve a certain degree of realism, as real hunting should be.
