.50 Beowulf might just be the only viable “modern” .50 caliber

.50 AE could work as well but there aren’t really that many firearms suited for hunting that use either of these calibers

Why? what do you want to hunt with it? You can't shoot an animal at more than 400 meters, why would you need a caliber more powerful than .300? Or do you just like guns to make a big boom?

Wow that is the epitome of “unbalanced suggestion”

How fast do you want to kill a bison anyway? The .338 with a double lung can get them down in less than 20 seconds, even faster if you put a second shot into them. If that still isn’t satisfactory then use the .470

While I agree with wanting a better rifle for class 8/9 or just 9. I think better fits would be 375 h&h, 416 rigby, 458 lott etc

Honestly we all know a 50bmg is way to big for hunting but a .416 berrett would actually be a pretty cool class 8-9 or 7-9 gun
