#Peru Hunting Reserve

I think another South American reserve would be great as we currently only have one. I think Peru would be a great choice for this. This map would have three main habitats/regions; farmland, mountains, and jungle. The mountains would be the Andes mountains, so very rocky and steep in some areas, and contain most of the bigger game. There would be small pools and thin creek running down the mountains. There could also be some Inca ruins in the mountains, reminiscent of Machu Picchu. The jungle region would be thick and dense, with a river and small ponds throughout, as well as a more open swampy area. Most of the smaller game lives here. The farmlands would be the smallest area, mostly open fields and ancient Inca farming terraces. Most of the bird hunting and a couple introduced species would live here.

Wow did you put a lot of thought into this

Nice job @analog heath

#

Why don't you add the part below the OP into the actual OP

There are now 2 South American Reserve Suggestions, and this one covers a variety of jungle species and the South American White-tailed Deer, I like it

I also just noticed you are having the blowgun as one of the weapons for the reserve, guess we can all channel our inner Tim Wells on this reserve and slock a goose out of the air

Ooo ok I'm thinking of adding puna teal up in the mountains, and giant coot to the swamps in the jungle. I'm also considering adding a species of tinamou in the mountains, and maybe replacing whitewing dove with Inca and West Peruvian dove? What does anybody think?

tame bison
#

Both the Puna Teal and Giant Coot are found in the mountains, but I like where you are going with it. There is Speckled Chachalaca in the jungles and the Spectacled Caiman is a very common species in South America if you want more jungle species. In the end its up to you weather or not it goes on the list

analog heath
analog heath
#

Alright added a bunch of things. Species list is a little long now but that's okay.

#

All of them probably won't be able to go into the map but this is only an idea

analog heath
#

Multi-horned sheep, or Jacob's sheep, can grow up to six horns, which would make for some really cool trophies

#

Brocket deer, both red and brown, have very small, spike antlers, but older males can get a small fork in them, which is what the diamonds should look like

gritty vessel
#

There’s some fantastic variety on the horn structure of the Jacob’s Sheep. The TruRACS variations would be really fun to see

Andean/feral sheep

#

Tbh I haven’t seen any pictures with them having 6 horns, so maybe the 6 horned ones could be a potential GO concept? 👀

analog heath
#

That would be cool. I couldn't find any pictures of six-horned ones but everything I've read says it's possible 🤷 maybe since they wouldn't get GOs for while (if they were added), only the bigger diamonds could have six horns, similar to the big rack red deer and whitetail.

analog heath

That would be pretty cool actually, give a ton of variety to the diamonds. Comparing one with two huge horns and one with six medium sized horns or something like that would be awesome

Wow. Okay. How about a spectated bear? Is that a huntable animal?

Okay

Two things. What is the deer species right here? The last photo. And what bird has the weird pink flesh thing on its beak?

I love this idea, I really think that a second South American map has a lot of potential. I really love some of these species, particularly the Ocelot, Capybara and Spectacled Caiman, and I think having the map split between mountains, jungles and farmlands is an excellent way to give some variety to this map. I'd definitely be pretty excited to see a map like this added to the game.

raw leaf
#

However, that being said, one species I'd like to see on this map is the Puma. They'd probably live in both the mountains and the jungle on this map.

analog heath
#

Also moved Andean goose to mountains and farmland as they're in the mountains too

raw leaf
# analog heath Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate it. And yeah I was definitely cons...

I think that would be a good idea, especially since you can't really do any other large land predator on a Peruvian map. The Spectacled Bear is probably too endangered to include, and Jaguars can't be hunted for sport in Peru. What you're left with then is the Puma, which would be a very ideal species to include because it's already in the game and it's technically only on one map (two if you consider the Mountain Lions on SRP to be the same thing, since they're different in name only).

Did you ever decide what weapons for this map?

Oh okay. on one map they put in the 350 legend as well.

2-7

analog heath

Oh that could be a good idea, especially cuz there's not too many big animals on this map

#

This…is one of the best map ideas I’ve ever seen

analog heath
#

Thank you!

analog heath
#

I wish I had more to say about this map but I've kinda mentioned everything I can think of... All I really have to say is we only have one South American reserve in game, and it doesn't have that many native species. We need more South American animals!

brittle ibex
#

They could definitely also add mourning doves to other maps like Mississippi,Rancho, and more

analog heath
#

Yeah for sure

analog heath
#

Thanks! Honestly I just want another South American map with native species, doesn't have to be mine

tame bison
analog heath
#

Yeah definitely

analog heath
#

Came up with some multimounts that could come with this reserve

Peace Was Never an Option - 1 male ocelot, 1 male of each dove species

Culpeo Culprit - 1 male puma, 1 male viscacha, 1 male culpeo

Battering Rams - 1 male feral sheep, 1 male multi-horned ram

Huddle Brocket - 3 male brocket deer, either species

Capybara Companion - 1 male capybara, 1 male spectacled caiman

Four Teal Types - 1 male of each teal species

Looks like a great reserve. If you had to narrow the list I could do without the collared peccery personally.

#

I’d love to see doves introduced in this map.

analog heath
#

Dove hunting is a big thing in Peru so if this map was added, doves would be necessary. They'd be so fun to hunt

brittle ibex
analog heath
#

Yeah absolutely, doves could add so much to existing maps

tame bison

Dove and Pigeon Species for other reserves
• Mourning Dove: Rancho, Mississippi
• Wood Pigeon: Cuatro, maybe Hirschfelden
• Eared Dove: Parque
• Cape Turtle Dove: Vurhonga

analog heath
#

That would be awesome, South America feels ignored as a potential hunting location compared to other areas, but offers some really unique experiences that could add a lot to the game

tame bison
#

Time to dredge this old thread up again

If we could get more then one South American Reserve, having one set in Peru would be good since it offers a mix of high-altitude mountain hunting and rainforest hunting

analog heath
#

I totally forgot I made this lmao. I actually took another trip to Peru this summer and saw a few of the animals on this list. I'm still holding out hope we get a new South America map within the next year or so, it would be amazing.
