Basically the idea is:
Fanny pack- 4 units additional carry weight/remove visibility debuff
Daypack- 8 units additional carry weight/ 10% more visible
Trekking pack-12 pounds additional weight/ 20% more visible

As they are now, they don't really offer incentive to buy them and they're much more of a hindrance than a help, to be honest they are better ignored completely. If they offered enough weight to carry an additional rifle they'd be useful on the virtue of carrying an entire loadout with both a tent and blind/tripod in addition to regular kit of calls and weapons.

Ideas are welcome, the numbers up top are a rough estimate only. I'll update the post as needed.

Also there is a bug with backpacks. If you ever put one on after removing it your loudness is still higher than it is supposed to be on most maps. It seems to randomly drop back off sometimes after 3 or 4 play sessions even. They need to make it so they slow you down slightly instead of making you louder or more visible.

I'd be totally fine with a slower movement speed rather than a visibility penalty

I use the smallest backback and cant really tell the difference in visability

I'd like to be able to use the medium backpack to offset disturbed vegetation taking so many skill points
